Default The Who "Quadrophenia" Tour 2012

It looks like The Who will be back in action next year performing "Quadrophenia"......weren't people expecting them to play Coachella two years ago?

The Who's Pete Townshend has revealed that the band will stage another 'Quadrophenia' tour next year.

He broke the news to fans over the band's website: ''The reason I am not on the road with Roger is that this is entirely Roger's adventure, one that is bringing him great joy. I don't belong on this Tommy tour. I wish him well, sincerely, and I look forward to playing with Roger again doing Quadrophenia next year."

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Townshend also revealed why he is not on the current 'Tommy' tour: ''Pete is having terrible hearing problems at the moment. I don't want to be on stage with him destroying the last bit of his hearing. That would be completely foolish. He's a composer."

Meanwhile, The Who's Roger Daltrey has slammed U2 over claims that they are tax evaders.

    P.S. and box set.....11/14

The Who have announced details of a re-release of their 1973 rock opera, 'Quadrophenia: The Director's Cut'.

Guitarist Pete Townshend has authorised and overseen the new edition of the album, which is due to be released on November 14.

The boxset features a re-master of the original double album, Townshend’s previously unheard demos, an exclusive eight track 5.1 sound DVD, a deluxe hard-back book, previously unseen personal notes, photographs, memorabilia and other exclusive material that will be announced over the coming months.

“This 2011 revisit to The Who’s 1973 Quadrophenia recording is inspired by current and continuing interest in the project,” said Townshend.

The guitarist added that The Who would likely perform the album on a tour in 2012.

The Who doing Quadrophenia at Coachella in 2012 would be terrible. Half of the audience would be gone before "5:15"

Says a guy with AF avatar hahaha. They have one great cd which is Funeral. Anything after = horrible! I'd take the Who over AF anyday at Coachella. Weren't people bitching about GV booking Roger Waters then after Coachella performance, most people were happy they got to witness that show?

    I'm hoping for....
    Friday-The Who/Sigur Ros
    Saturday-Daft Punk/Beastie Boys
    Sunday-Radiohead/Pulp

P.S. Wish I could squeeze Bjork in there somehow but with her playing venues under 2000, she won't be at Polo Field next year

If they were to play Coachella, there's no way it'd be just for Quadrophenia.

pay close attention to my posts since you are obviously looking them up. not once did i recommend any of the bands you mentioned above to play on the polo field. you are a dummy. the was at your generic wishlist that you and a million other people on here keep posting thinking that you actually have some input in what GV decides. 2011's headliners should be a clear example that they don't take board opinion into consideration.

I think that is over generous, after 15 minutes most would be waiting for a song they know.
The Who doing Quadrophenia at Coachella I don't think works. Maybe, with two parts and greatest hits.

I am a huge fan of The Who, but I really think they need to stop with the live shows. Since Entwistle died, Daltrey's voice has declined and Townsend is struggling with just hearing and this has been showing in the performances.
Saying that they will probably do Quadrophenia shows in the UK.

I love the Who. Not sure how I feel about "The Who" as Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend in 2012, but I digress. But even if the fest trends back to a classic rock headliner, and even if that headliner is the Who, it would still be a terrible idea for them to spend half or more of their allotted time playing Quadrophenia in its entirety.

I'm sorry, what was that, Spooks? I can't hear you from on top of your New York High Horse.

And calling Soundgarden a shitty band is enough to make me come to the conclusion that you are a fucking retard.

Yea I'll say it again! Soundgarden sucks balls. You happy?

P.S. Red Hot Chilli Peppers are little bit tolerable though. But that was in sometime in the 90s.
