There are free shows on in Barca for Primavera ticket holders for the 2 weeks before the festival, so that's your evenings sorted.

My favourite place to eat is Cal Pep. Not cheap tapas, but truly amazing. Will probably try a visit on the 30th.

Also good is Irati Taverna Basca. Tapas on toothpicks. You just pay for each toothpick at the end. They do some really strong Catalan cider too.

I'm having some very successful primavera research right now. Really digging on Dominant Legs, Archers of Loaf, Bleached, Lee Ranaldo, and Sharon Van Etton! And of course finally listening to japandroids. Now i just have to start dreading conflicts.

I had 6 days in barcelona that didn't involve the festival, and I covered pretty much everything I had wanted to see in that time. Are you guys staying like 3 days or something?

We're doing 6 days in Madrid, and then 5 days in Barcelona, which pretty much covers the fest. We'll arrive in the city by train 2pm on Wednesday, but it's a pretty full day and night of good pre-fest shows, and then the fest Thursday-Saturday. We'll try to muster up the energy on Sunday to really get out see the city, especially since I'm not really excited by any of the Sunday bands, though that might be a good place to end the night. Depending on the set times, we could conceivably do tourist stuff in the mornings of the festival and come in in the afternoon, or leave for a couple hours at some point during each day if there are big gaps in our schedule. Definitely would have likeed more time, but there's a lot of stuff in and around Madrid to see too. We'll probably spend a whole day in Toledo.

I was just looking at that through the facebook group. the guy making that did indeed die while doing Saturday haha. Hopefully an official schedule gets released soon...I wonder if anyone is going to replace Bjork?
