I will be at the Wiltern tonight. Not too familiar with his music but I have a rare night off and haven't been to a show in ages.

ahhhh, so bummed i didn't get to see you! or andrew.
the show was fantastic. i love that i got a lot of different songs than i did at the new york show. closing with underground was perfect. it was kinda surreal listening to song for the dumped with my high school boyfriend after listening to it so many times during our break-up. also magic, omg, when i was sick that song was there in my darkest hours. i cried because i was so happy to be past that and with dear friends seeing the best band on the planet. and missing the war. wow, what a great show.
Yep, fantastic show - really glad I decided to make it. I went on Livenation the night before the concert and somehow pulled second row balcony seats - had an amazing view of the stage. I can't remember ever seeing a true virtuoso on the piano, at least from that kind of vantage point. The showed seamed sold out so they must have released more tickets at the last minute. Felt lucky to be sitting where I was, and I recognized more songs than I thought I would. Look forward to getting aquatinted with the albums.

Just got back from the HOB Anaheim show. Wow. Great, great show. First time seeing the band live. Crowd was going off the whole time, and the band really fed off of it. Ben kept saying the whole time that he assumed there were quite a few people in the crowd who were also at the Wiltern, and that because of that they were trying to play as much of a completely different set as possible. I'm not the best with their song names, but I'll post the setlist in here when it goes up on setlist.fm. There was one song that people went nuts for that Ben said they hadn't played live in at least 14 years.
Many, many thanks to knytt for the heads up on his radio station's contest. Fantastic, fantastic night.
Edit: I take that back. I did see Ben Folds Five open for Counting Crows in '97. But I was far away and that was a long time ago haha.

I just saw Ben Folds Five here in San Diego and they were AMAZING! I literally haven't been able to listen to anything else. I hope they come back here ASAP, do you guys think they'll continue to make albums / tour?
Friday: Blur, Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, Passion Pit, Of Monsters & Men, Divine Fits Japanroids, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, Skinny Lister, FOALS
Saturday: Phoenix, The Postal Service, Dropkick Murphys, Two Door Cinema Club, Franz Ferdinand, Violent Femmes, SMD, Allen Stone, Ben Howard, Vintage Trouble, Reignwolf
Sunday: RHCP, Vampire Weekend, The Faint, Tanlines, Rodriguez, Pretty Lights, La Roux, Tame Impala, Father John Misty, Hanni El Khatib
my dad recorded some long-ass interview for me on some direct TV music channel that we watched on christmas. during the interview, they said they made the album more for them than for mass consumption or selling purposes. i would imagine it would take them some time to do another, but anything is possible.
I JUST NOTICED YOU GOT STEVEN'S LAST NIGHT IN TOWN TOO, holy shit am i jealous. i fucking love that song.
I was at Ben Folds Five at the Wiltern. I went with my girlfriend along with her sister & new husband who flew in from Australia just in time for the show. They used The Luckiest in their wedding on Jan. 5 and I hoped that they would play it, but they didn't. Overall amazing show and I'm glad that we made it. Big props to Movie Bruin for the dinner spot suggestions walking distance to the venue! Sorry to just see this thread now but we got there right when Ben Folds Five started playing so maybe no meetup time.
no worriesour meet-up plans failed as the original bar we selected (beer belly i think?) was way too crowded so we went somewhere else anyway.
i was surprised they played landed, since like luckiest it was only a ben folds solo song. glad to hear y'all enjoyed the show.
