I only heard about 4 songs, and they sounded like all new songs. I was bored and I left. They've been great the other 3 times I've seen them, so I don't know what was up. I don't know if the songs just sucked live, or if the band just wasn't into it. It just didn't have that The Black Keys edge to it.

The new material sounded great at the two Vegas shows I went to. I was really impressed with the venue. I like Brothers though.

You should check out the entire cover album. I think you'll enjoy.

I think that I need this album. I need to hear JC's cover of "Rave On" because I already love M. Ward's version.

I was right near one of the speakers on the left-hand side of the stage and I heard everything loud and clear. The entire set is on youtube in full somewhere and I can't pickup any sound issues through their recording either. I think it depended on where you were standing, but everyone I was around seemed to share the same opinion.

That's the one. I'm not really a My Morning Jacket fan, but the song they cover gives me chills.

I would like to know the thought process the powers that be went through in order to decide that Kid Rock would be an ideal artist to cover a Buddy Holly track.

I almost forgot they even played Coachella. I haven't even heard anyone talk about their performance until now.

I liked Brothers as much as the rest of their stuff; I didn't think it particularly pandered to commercial audiences, so I'm surprised they crossed over in such a big way with it.

That cover album is hit or miss anyway.

The only tracks I consistently listen to are the ones by The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, and Cee Lo.

This is great news. I'll be honest, as of late I haven't really cared for the keys live ever since brothers. I just want them to go back to when it was just Dan and Patrick.

Same. I thought they had a great set despite some sound problems in the beginning. Not as good as their '09 set for me (my first time seeing them) but different and fuller. I liked it.

Interesting. I've heard predominately negative reviews of their 09 set(I really liked it).

Because I was at The Black Keys and I do not regret my decision. I heard Cut Copy was awesome and I wish they didn't conflict, but I didn't seem to experience the sound issues other people did during The Black Keys' set.

I mean, c'mon, it's not like skipping Sasha for Kings of Leon.

No need to be sorry. I didn't think it was nearly as bad as many here are making it out to be. Again, from where we were standing, there were zero issues with sound that I could pick up. It wasn't quiet at all; everything was loud and clear from where we were at.

The only thing I heard were people way, way off to the front left. Like where you would go to get to the backstage VIP chanting, "turn it up," between the first few songs. So they were parallel to the stage, a hundred yards away, with the speakers pointing away from them, no shit it isn't going to be loud.

I had zero issues, and thought it was the best set of the four I've seen from them.

It seems like the main stage always has sound issues. Except for the headliners.

The main stage had technical difficulties throughout the weekend. The only real issues I noticed with The Black Keys' were with the screens not coming on until the middle of their set.

I never saw this thread, so I am going to catch up quick. Brothers is a fantastic record and it was a welcome departure. The Brothers material is also fantastic live and seeing them as a 4 piece for a handful of songs was pretty cool. I heard their Coachella set was very disapointing. I feel bad for anybody that missed Cut Copy.

Now that that is out of the way, after the release of Brothers, I had a feeling The Black Keys wouldn't continue going in the same direction. I kind of figured they would go back to, for lack of a better word, "rocking." If their new stuff really sounds like it is inspired by The Clash and The Cramps, I am most certainly down. Can't wait to hear the new single.
