I know it's probably a long shot, but I'm also looking for an Extra Ticket.

Be somewhat careful transiting through Campus. During show days, Cops patrol the route looking for peeps with open containers and what not.

I'm still debating about the PW show....

    Count me in for this.

I'm going to be visiting friends in San Jose the next few days. One of their friends has an extra ticket to the Portishead show that I'm buying. So, woohoo, I get to see Portishead.

How is security overall? How thorough, if any, are the pat downs?

I've never had a pat down there. I've had them once ask to look in my (large-ish) backpack, but they literally just glanced and didn't search it or anything. Be discreet and you're fine.

Theres a chance I won't make it to the show tomorrow due to an injury sustained while at work this morning. The timing just couldn't be better. Will be going to the doctor tomorrow morning to get it looked at and I'm not about to disobey any orders if he tells me to take it easy. If that be the case and you want to pick it up in san jose its yours for $50

^ Sorry to hear about your injury. I'm [possibly] interested and also wouldn't know for sure until tomorrow.

Regarding Greek Theater gate security, I've received thorough pat-downs at least half of the times I've been there.

I wasnt really asking about the patdowns as much as how is security with the smell of marijuana wafting over the crowd

Oh this is gonna be so good.

Cant believe its been three fucking years. Wow. Doesnt seem that long ago.

Also, people that were at Coachella in 2008 are better people than people that were not, but you know all that already.

Flew in yesterday for tonight's show at Greek. Really fucking excited, their 2008 set on the polo fields is still my #1. Any good restaurants in that area worth checking out before the show? Or would we be better off getting something in SF before taking the Bart?

If we're lucky something will happen. Some adversity will happen and something unexpected will happen and you'll get tired and you'll get hungry, you'll have trouble going to the bathroom, and you'll lose your car keys, and all these wonderful things will add up to some powerful experience that 10 years from now we'll say "We lived, we lived." - Wayne Coyne on Coachella

In Berkeley on University is one of my favorite restaurants.
Its called Platano and its Salvadoran food and it is awesome.
The pupusas and pastelas there are some of the best Ive had.

So ya know, just a suggestion.

It most definitely was. Had a great time. Could have gone without the loud ass drunk bitch that ruined about 2 songs. Other than that, great time and a pretty awesome crowd.

I wonder if it was the same loud drunk bitch that was cackling throughout the show with her 2 friends next to me. I really wanted to punch them in the face.

Show was great as expected. Loved to see Beth up there smiling and having a good time

    What an amazing show.
One thing that occurred to me last night about Portishead: I like all their 90s stuff, but it almost feels like a different band. It was nice and all but I didn't enjoy those songs as much as the new song and the stuff off Third, which is really the record that got me fully onboard with Portishead.
The older songs are very nice songs. They just suffer in direct comparison to the Third stuff I think.

That's neither here nor there though. It was a terrific show.

On that note though, I wonder if there were lots of people there last night that hadn't even heard the newer stuff before and I wonder how they took it.

Regarding the new stuff Nylon Smile was a favorite from the first listen of Third and it remains my favorite song on that album. I disagree about the new stuff being better overall though. Over, wondering stars, mysterons, cowboys, threads and roads are all better than a good portion of Third IMO. That show seemed to fly by. They just sounded brilliant last night and I think I would follow an entire tour if I could afford the time and money.
