This seems like a potentially pretty cool event at the L.A. zoo in July:
The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) and The Fold present a rare opportunity for an after-hours visit for "MUSIC IN THE ZOO" under the stars. Local Scene Night features some of our favorite emerging LA bands including Abe Vigoda, HoneyHoney, Hands, Kitten, Mini Mansions, Pollyn, Big Search and Allah Las. This unique event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 15th - save the date!
Admission for GLAZA members is $13 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 15. Admission for non-members is $17 for adults and $11 for children ages 6 to 15. Children 5 and under are free.
An eclectic array of foods and beverages will be available throughout the zoo; guest picnics are also permitted.
The Los Angeles Zoo is located in Griffith Park at the junction of the Ventura (134) and Golden State (5) freeways. Please note construction is currently underway on Crystal Springs Drive, so we HIGHLY recommend you take the 5 freeway! Tickets for "Music in the Zoo: Local Scene Night" may be purchased at http://www.lazoo.org/mitz/index.html, or by phone at (323) 644-6042.
