    2008 wins in every level. Emotionally, physically, musically ... nothing has topped 2008 for me. It was the perfect day and night, day in and day out. Can't remember the last time I've had a weekend happier than that, actually. It was amazing ...

    Been going since 2008 and 2011 was a quantum leap better organized than any other prior year. I agree it was definitely the best overall experience. 2009 was my favorite for the acts/music.

    What was up with 2010? Wasn't there but I see a lot of people saying bad things about the festival itself. I also heard some friends mention the same thing

    I'd go to Coachella if fucking Alvin and the Chipmunks were headlining.

    true, but since so few of us went to 99, I threw in 04 as a backup, ok still only a few saw that one too... but you get my point.

    2004 was the first real sellout. Not only in terms of tickets, but the first real "Hollywood year" When Paris Hilton is dancing with Jack Black during The Pixies set... that started the downward spiral (of sorts). But we all know every year has been good. Just most of the people these days have come after the festival made a major shift.

    Its a toss up between '07, 08, and 10 for me

    2007 it was my first year
    2008 still stands in my mind as a musically mind blowing year
    2010 was awesome because of Carpoolchella
