killer bands, still no sold out CO. feeling to festival yet and only about 45,000 so you could see bands in the tent.stages up close no problem.

Oh yeah and HOLLYWOOD still had no clue about it yet.

For me, 2009 was my favorite year (not lineup, but experience) aka the first year I got the full Coachella experience of attending all three days, camping, the whole deal. Climbed the fence Thursday night to watch Paul McCartneys's soundcheck, danced onstage for MIA, and camped out at the mainstage all day to be up front for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (one of my favorite bands)

Tossup between 2008 and 2011. 08 was my first 3 day year and the lineup was probably my favorite to date, and last year was just a blast, Tallest Man on Earth and Arcade Fire really made it a special weekend.

for me it was 2008 the year of PRINCE! it was so much fun but it was even better because it was the year that i went ALONE with none of my friends i camped out with the SOLO campers group and had a blast with a bunch of people enjoyed the camp grounds sooooo much coachella is trully the best time of the year going alone also made it awesome because i didnt have to settle to watch whatever show my friend wanted to see i could choose my sets to watch and had a blast god bless coachella lol

08 was THE PEAK of my coachella: musically and emotionaly
09 was all about seeing Paul McCartney outside of that. . . .
10 was kind of a clusterfuck but still fun
11 was the comeback, so much fun maybe because 10 lowered my expectations

2006 Saturday was pretty fucking epic, from Joey Beltram in the afternoon, Carl Cox, Depeche Mode, all the way to Daft Punk!
Crystal Method before Paul McCartney was pretty awesome as well.

I dont know how long Ill go to Coachella, but the answer has been the same for several years; at least once more.

Every year I keep telling myself this!

My 2nd Coachella had to be my favorite. It was still "mind blowing" and I actually did everything right. Been chasing that experience ever since.

In my experience the line-up doesn't necessarily guarantee the best Coachella. It takes good planning, the right people and a little bit of luck.

pre-3day coachella i'd say 2004 hands down

more recent i'd say 2009 not just because of bands but the people i was with and the whole experience. 2010 was a great lineup but the clusterfuckness of it all totally ruined it

In terms of overall experience, 2011 was the best year I have attended. Not necssarily the best for music, but when you factor everything in, it was my favorite year.
