Garbage is AMAZING live!!!! I would say there is a really good chance garbage will be at coachella the new album is due out in March or April and Shirley has already mentioned she would love to play coachella. Butch Vig said in a interview ". We’ll probably start doing rehearsals in January of next year and then play a few small shows in March of April. Then maybe we’ll play some festivals both here and in Europe." I have my fingers crossed!

WHY
Seems plausible, now.
*based upon tedious fact checking.
Garbage will be there...they are playing the warm up show April 10th....and supported by GV.
$35 and haven't seen Garbage since their Wiltern appearance on my 21st
Garbage birthday 2.0 wooooop wooop
Self titled and 2.0 were fantastic
I would love for this to happen, but am not holding my breath. Garbage is great live. I think their first two albums are their best and I hear that is the direction for this new one. I'm still going to desperately attempt to buy tickets on Saturday, but given the tiny size of the El Rey, I have a bad feeling about it.
Crystal Castles will be the replacement band.

Bet a lot of $ on Garbage showing up to Coachella
they are headed out on tour in May
They are represented by Golden Voice
They have a 'warm up' show in LA on the 10th of April - 3 days prior to Coachella
GV needs more bands -due to drops
Too many similarities to ignore
Beautiful Garbage was fantastic as well. It was not the same album as the first two but it was just as good as them in it's own way IMO.
Garbage was my first ever concert (in fact, it was the very one at SDSU mentioned by someone earlier in this thread) and if they end up getting added to the poster I will probably need to change my pants.
Garbage was the first band I ever traveled outside of LA area for. Saw most every Vegas, San Fran and SD show on each tour. I can't wait for this El Rey show and subsequent tour, gonna have to catch at least a few shows around the country.
I thought all 4 albums were fantastic (yes, even Bleed Like Me, though I can tell they weren't as into it at the end...). Here's the way I'd stack them.
V2.0
BG
Garbage
BLM
I REALLY hope this happens!! Definitely way too close to Coachella, put on by Goldenvoice, to not have them there, + all the other festival dates their doing. This add would make me very ecstatic. Sure wish I was in LA earlier to catch the El Rey gig.
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
I think this is going to happen and I am really excited!
I haven't seen garbage since 98. they were my second ever concert. having them at coachella is a great idea. I would've loved to see that. shame it didn't happen before I lost interest, but oh well.
hoping for an SF date round about that LA date...
I'm so upset that they're playing in L.A. 2 days before I arrive on my way to Coachella. Don't have anymore vacation time to use. Was really hoping the L.A. date was going to be the Tuesday the 17th. Now just have to hope they get added to Coachella.

This would be awesome.
Coachella '10, '11, '12 (w2), '13 (w1), and hopefully every one after
"I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me-like food or water."
Ray Charles
debating now whether to buy tickets to see the show in LA or wait and see if the Coachella set is announced.
Go to both. Frees up at conflicts any Coachella if there are any.
Just noticed the thread title says Outdoor Saturday night.... why so specific? Outdoor on Saturday would make perfect sense to me, vs Bon Iver on the main, before Radiohead starts.... Do it GV!
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
At least try for tickets, however, Garbage at the El Rey will sell out instantaneously. It's a tiny venue.
I'm kind of half expecting this to be announced on Monday after the probable instantaneous sell out of the El Rey gig on Saturday. If both places are already sold out at that point, then there's no harm in tacking them onto the bill.
Or maybe I'm just dreaming still.
