Back to topic, I think M83's new album cover matches the title and what this artist's aesthetic incorporates.
"White people's skin is their jewelry." -Heems
has anyone got the leaked version of this? so far i'm loving it! one song in tho, Gg
What about this frog? Its a very tiny frog. But its also very special. You can only find it in the jungle, so far away from here.
But if you find it. If you touch it. Your world can change forever.
If you touch its skin, you can feel your body change.
Your vision also. Blue becomes red and red becomes blue.
Your mommy becomes your daddy and everything looks like a giant cupcake.
"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.
Fair the well, you elitest scumbags."

No.
I really hope those aren't lyrics.
Not so much lyrics but spoken word done by a child over one of the tracks.
I didn't know Zola Jesus was on the album. I like her.

Well, that's one of us I suppose.
My official review before listening to it is based off of Brandon's initial review: BOOO. I will keep you updated when I actually listen to it.

Yeah, with tons of kids wearing MGMT shirts waving glowsticks around.
I love it.
It's wide-eyed, childlike and ecstatic.
I understand that you don't like it but I'm afraid I also can't help not caring.

The Foster the People hate is more doofy kneejerk posing-masquerading-as-opinion.
Their debut is a very good record and after seeing them play a club back in June I can report that they are a very good live act.
But oh noes their song became a massive hit and what will people think of my insecure ass if I like them now omgz!
One of the best things about being 70 years old is that you lose those insecurities and can just like things without worrying about some completely fraudulent and convoluted hipness scale.

That's like Mumford and Sons fans calling the haters hipsters, it's a tired and unimaginative argument. I actually like Pumped Up Kicks, it's very catchy. Why I hate Foster the People is because of that Houdini song. It is the most shameless rip off of another song I've ever heard before (youtube it and then youtube MGMT's Electric Feel), and for that they can go fuck themselves.

Oh please. Because there isnt anything at all tired about pretending that a claim is invalid just because you've heard it before?
Im not saying that the two songs dont have cosmetic similarities but how many people claimed Cut Copy ripped off Men at Work on the last record? Now Im not some raging FTP superfan or anything but I seriously doubt THAT is the reason you hate that band.
And Im sure all of your media critiques are completely self-contained and not at all governed by outward appearances.
If "Pumped Up Kicks" hadnt blown up like it did, you might still have the same opinion of "Houdini" but I suspect it would have raised your ire far less.

I think newer fans will like/love this one and the older fans will not. Essentially it's a complete genre change to happy-go-lucky dream-pop. The 2 minute long interludes are the only hints at the old expansive M83 sound, and the slap bass, sassy vocals and the tasers and lasers and phasers really kill it for me. The childlike description is accurate, but I don't feel like that is a good thing. This feels childlike in the way you would describe something amateurish to be childlike. The production on a number of tracks feels completely wrong, Morgan isn't anywhere to be found on this thing, and it's just too...happy. I mean, you could argue that Saturdays was happy, and that it sounded very reminiscent of the time period it was mimicking, but that one at least felt genuine. These may not be bad pop songs, but what they aren't are good M83 songs.
Son, I am disappoint.
