How fucking stupid. Reunion was the additional song they showed, but they had major technical issues during that song at the Fonda...they made it seem like the bass player kid was supposed to sing lead on the second verse and you could see Anthony trying to figure out what was going on in the background.

Please check out my blog Sleeping is Giving In for some great mixes and other good things!

So I'm in my western civ class and the prof was going over some last minute things before we took a final. Prof is kind of strange and ended up talking about the frog song off the new album compared to a shift in perception by some philosopher blahblah.
The only real hipster (the stereotypical kind) Ive ever seen in person thats been sitting in the back of the class the whole semester legitimately says, "Well damn, guess I can't listen to them anymore."
The guy next to me and I were laughing so hard we were crying. K, that's my story.

I just heard a song from the new record on an episode of Gossip Girl*. I think it's time we saw other people, Anthony.
*But Brandon, why are you watching Gossip Girl? My roommate is watching it and I am sitting here. Whatever. Not important.
I think Brandon is finding it difficult that he is licensing his music to make a living.
I dont have an issue with that. I'd prefer it go to more artistically worthy endeavors, however. At least it was a new shitty song.
I think he had a chat with The Black Keys on how you get paid.
2013 headliner.
The Coachella leg of their tour wound its way to SLC last night. Very similar setlist to Coachella, but expanded out with additional songs for a longer settime. They kept treats like "Sitting" and "Fall" in the set list, and added a couple more Before the Dawn Heals Us tracks. I love the arrangements of the Saturdays = Youth songs, just really fantastic. Hearing "Steve McQueen" and "Wait" live (the former for the second time), I was really impressed with how much of a '95-era Smashing Pumpkins sound those songs have. When the new album was released, Anthony talked Mellon Collie as an influence quite a bit, but I took it mostly as a thematic influence. But the live arrangements of those tracks remind me so much of the Pumpkins, songs like "Muzzle" and "To Forgive," respectively. "Couleurs" destroyed. I had such a great time.
Wish I could have been there. Though I despise In The Venue. Could have after work if it was @ my beloved Urban Lounge, though he is much too large for that venue I suppose. Oh well, saw him twice @ Coachella. Have to work sometime I suppose. Here, here, to more SLC Coachellites!
In The Venue is such a stupid name.

I wished he played "Graveyard Girl" and "New Map" at Coachella. Those flutes at the end always get to me.
I'ma ball at the mall shuttin' down the sea wall
And I just bought a ticket to see him/them at Terminal 5 NYC

Pitchfork interview yesterday:
Pitchfork: How do you think people expecting another M83 album out of this soundtrack might react?
AG: That's my problem, not their problem. Now, it's gonna be hard to make an album or a song without having someone talking to me about "Midnight City". The song took up so much space in my life. I'll never complain about its success-- I think it's fantastic to have a hit that people can sing and dance to-- but I'm scared of it. If there's no "Midnight City" on my next album, what are the people gonna think about me? Are they still gonna love me? That's scary. I've been trying to make my career grow little by little, and on this album I took a bigger leap. But we'll see what happens. I'm excited and frightened at the same time.
Hopefully, whatever leap he takes, he won't try to sing like Peter Gabriel again.
