Sharing WIFI with neighbors

How do you kids feel about it? I'm "friends" with a few neighbors in my complex, and they all hit me up for my WIFI password because they are broke. They don't mention splitting the bill, or helping me out in any way. Every time one of them asks I avoid answering. One of them I flat out said no to, but he still asks. Am I being a dick?

Doesn't matter if it's your line federal and most state laws declare the owner of the service is partly to blame. You won't get charged with the crime, but you will get charged with a lesser offense like criminal negligence.

I'll find the article but recently someone was busted for kiddie porn and the people who owned the line and didn't put a password on their router got charged with a misdemeanor of sorts.

Most times whatever that person who owned the line is charged with is thrown out of court, but the point is to never share your internet with anybody you don't know. It also steals bandwidth from you I don't know why you'd take the risk.

Not to mention if someone like me was on an open network I could easily get into any computer sharing the router. Ask my mom's second husband about how he got caught doing things he shouldn't have been doing.

Borrowing one CD or asking a friend to burn you one CD is different than someone just assuming they can pilfer your entire music collection. It would be like if someone took all of your CD's home to burn. It's presumptive.
