I watched with my daughter yesterday and we both quite liked it. The comedic side of the show is really as good as it's ever been. I understand what you mean about the Hitler aspect of the story, but I didn't mind all that much. I still found it fairly satisfying overall and thought the whole episode was a worthy return to the second half of Series 6.

I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the season, although I was kind of bummed that they tied up the whole WE NEED TO FIND MY BABY thing in one go and now we're done with that.

I'm trying hard to make these comments not super spoilery just in case.

They neatly cicrumvented being forced to have a small child on the show. It was a decent episode. We also watched the first epsiode of Torchwood: Miracle Day, and it was okay but didn't draw me in.

I thought the episode was great. I love bad ass Mel, Melody, River. It was a really fun, strange way to start the second half of the season. I am ready for the next episode. It looks CREEPY.

I hated episode 8, but thought this one was great. It's nice to have a serious episode once in a while.

I was a child of the 80s in the UK. Watched plenty of this silly show when I was a kiddo. I'm pretty sure that the trash cans with the toilet plungers gave me nightmares. Definitely not a fan as an adult, but even I can admit that this is fucking awesome. Clearly the ones from the 60s-early 80s are the best .

God bless the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. (Not to mention the title designers)

There should just be a whole series of Daleks doing different jobs like drive thru cashier or customer service.

I took my daughter to a BBC America screening of "Asylum of the Daleks" this evening. Without revealing anything a week before its official release I can tell you that it's an absolutely fantastic introduction to Series 7. Matt Smith and Karen Gillan arrived for the event in a pair of DeLoreans, and they stuck around following the screening for a Q&A hosted by Chris Hardwick. Good night all around and I'm really stoked for the new season.

Okay now that it premiered. How do you all think they will re-introduce Oswin? That was such a clever twist. I am excited for her as the new companion and think it was brilliant to introduce her before Rory and Amy were done. If they had gotten rid of them before she came along I may not have liked her so quickly. Loved the Daleks chanting Doctor Who? It was a lovely way to begin the new season. Teaser for next episode looks great.

Loved the premiere and it was definitely a surprise to see Jenna-Louise Coleman. I have no idea how they are going to bring her back other than it being timey wimey. I also thought the scene with the Ponds arguing over who loves each other more was sweet.

It was really sweet! I always believed Rory loved her more, so it was nice to hear Amy say those things.

Bring on more Oswin. Hopefully she's that tech savvy when she does become the companion. Need a companion thats quick witted and can handle herself.

I found it a touch unbelievable that Amy & Rory were divorcing in the first place, given the short amount of time that elapsed and considering everything those characters have endured together. I didn't think it was consistent, but tevs, because the make-up scene was pretty great. I liked Oswin, but obviously Amy & Rory are a hard act to follow.

I read that this episode was suppose to have taken place a few years from where the last season ended.

Amy and Rory's journey ended in The God Complex which was already mid 2013. I assume that meant that the christmas special was Christmas of 2013 and that would put us into 2014 at the earliest if that's correct. I don't think they said when this episode took place, but I think it was safe to say that some time had passed. then again, I only read this on a wiki or blog recently, so it could be wrong.

I did read that Moffat tried to avoid 2012 because of the Olympics and some of the season 1 and 2 episodes (Dalek and Fear Her) though.

I was saying that I read somewhere the new season started a while into the future. I read it in an article after a comic con pannel, but it isn't important enough for me to hunt it down.

interesting. There were a couple prequels to the premiere and one of them gives a little bit of a back story about the Ponds.

Here's the other prequel short. This one seems to foreshadow our new companion.

Yeah, I read it was ~2 years after the Christmas special. Which is still reallllllllllllllllly short, giving Amy & Rory. I just can't believe they devolved that quickly.

Dinosaurs on a spaceship was a bit boring, but I liked Rory's dad!! I loved it when The Doctor called him Mr Pond, haha!

I loved that episode! I feel like the doctor has been battling with a bit of darkness. He let the bad guy from the second episode die, which is not normally in his moral guidelines. He also almost pushed the alien doctor out to his death. I like to see him struggle with that. Looks like next episode the ponds are going to choose to break it off with the doctor.
