This is something people that didn't get presale say.

And those that didn't get Presale, should have gone for Weekend 2 tickets instead of Weekend 1 since they were mostly sold out already.

It's not that you're having a bad ticket buying experience, it's that the festival has just exploded in popularity. For better or worse, this is how it is.

You're right,t he guy who will be in London for weekend 2 should have bought those tickets instead of the ones for the weekend he will be here for.


Anyone who bought the tickets from Radiohead get hit with an almost 20 dollar international fee? I'll suck it up because that's still cheaper than scalpers or even those pointless addons frontgate was forcing and that I won't use...but it'd be nice to have known that ahead of time.

And just to think that even yesterday, we all felt confident that we could just swipe the last GA/shuttle passes for weekend 1 and use weekend 2 as a safety crutch...

This is so true. Even though I had nightmares about Weekend 1 selling out, I didn't actually think I couldn't get tickets. Oh well. Swiping the last of weekend 2 tickets was better than nothing for me.

I did not deal with the waiting room last year because I bought mine last minute (receipt shows "processed" 3 minutes from end of presale). I don't plan on putting it off that long this time. Any guesses on whether GV will use Frontgate again?

Last year they didn't cap the number of tickets sold during the presale, though I am not sure if this is the case again this year.

I'm thinking they will cap the pre sale this year. Thousands of people weren't able to buy tix during the regular on sale, probably due to the fact that so many sold during the pre sale.

Company Philosophy

In the current economy it is increasingly difficult to make ends meet for everyone. We hope that with Front Gate Tickets we can help keep the flow of money in direct alignment with the bigger picture of keeping the venues open, enabling the artists to stay on the road, and keep folks coming to shows!

We believe that while there are additional expenses and reasonable profitability associated with providing the ticketing service, it should not be the most profitable part of the concert industry. Especially considering the artist and venue/promoter assume the majority of the risk associated with offering a show.

Our philosophy is simple: the selling and distributing of tickets should be an extension of the artist and venue/promoter provided services. For example, if the artist sells the ticket through their website then they should retain part of the service fee. The outlet that provides the storefront for purchasing tickets should also retain part of the service fee, as should the organization working the box office. We believe that anyone that is part of the process of distribution, marketing, or selling tickets should get paid for their contribution.

As you can imagine, that is a lot to coordinate. The Front Gate Tickets system is simply a central resource for inventory control, purchasing, and reporting whether you

my firefox works... took me 35 minutes to get tix last year.

I will be working from 8a-6p tomorrow and am dreading this whole process. It took me about 4 hours last year. I'm directing a newscast at 5pm, so hopefully it won't take 4 hours this year or I'll just have to wait until I get home. Maybe I'm just being naive but it doesn't seem too crazy around here yet.. could this whole presale be happening too fast for a lot of people? Maybe tomorrow will be a piece of cake.

I waited close to 2 hours in that waiting room last year, gave up, took a nap, and logged back on about 5 hours later and got tix. I doubt I can get away with that at least for weekend 1 this year, so hopefully I don't just sit in there forever

That's what I would think too, but it's probably best to play it safe from now on. Who the hell thought two entire weekends would sell out within hours of the general sale back in January. Anything's possible now as far as I'm concerned.
