Everyone knows that the Chemical Brothers are far better than Daft Punk, there is just a large selection who is too scared to admit it.

Im sure you haven't seen them live.(Judging from you signature) Have you?
The Daft vs Chems debate is one that my meager mind is not able to deliberate. It causes way to many wires to cross and I just end up deleting what I type.
They are both AWESOME and Epic in there OWN Right.
Its like comparing the The Beatles to The Stones To Zepplin, do you really want to go down that road?

they aren't that big of a deal because there are other artists out there in the same genre with way better discographies and set ups. (plastikman comes to mind) plus the way that everyone around here seems to hype them up means that they're only gonna be let down if it doesn't match the pyramid. i don't really blame dp for not touring since then. that being said, i still like them a lot, but it feels like a waste to keep wishing for them.

Can we save all this Daft Punk debate bullshit till 2012
is that what causes the end of the world?
and nathan quality of discography is not what we're talking about. we're talking about selling tickets, and in EDM, there is none bigger than DP. that is simply not debatable. i've never had as much room at night in the sahara as i had at plastikman last year.
I can't believe people still fall for the anti DP trollery around here, these guys love Daft just as much as the rest of the world. menikmatis' comedicaly over the top reply is a dead giveaway.

^Actually, I think they're remarkably average. But that's still better than how I feel about a lot of popular music, so... maybe you're right.

Chemical Brothers are far better than Daft Punk. This should be obvious to anyone who has listened to both artists.
Iron Maiden, Boards of Canada and Underworld for 2013
"HEY YOUR MUSICAL PREFERENCES ARE NOT VALID COMPARED TO MINE"
"RAWWWWRRR"
Damn. Being a huge fan of both I don't think I could ever choose between the two.
And this idea that the Chemical Brothers are way better than Daft Punk is laughable. Such a statement should not be made because there is no comparison, they are vastly different. Daft Punk opened a genre of music to a generation that didn't even know it existed. I'm one of those people. There is a reason why there is some type of God Myth-like aura associated with Daft Punk.

I don't understand the Elvis argument. Elaborate? I feel like you are only helping my argument?
And yep. I am one of those people. Proud to be one of them. And when making this argument it is more than just how good someone's discography is. Why do so many people who saw Daft Punk consider it one of the best shows they have ever seen?
Emotions are involved in music. Trying to use a logical argument does not always work.
The rarity of their show also plays a role to the myth like persona.
Edit: to 11yearsofdjs - I love all of your pointless posts. Keep it up. Gotta get that post count up.

Anyone who's is anyone knows USC is the reason rainbow sandals, v neck shirts, coachella tickets, cocaine, booze and duck sauce tickets sell out every year.
Didn't you see our Kappa Kappa Hey shirts broseph?
Curse you USC for buying all the pairs of rainbows!
Not really an argument, merely saying that just as there are a lot of people that roll their eyes at mention of the mystique/importance of Elvis, even though he too was a pioneer in the ears of the mainstream.
Introducing something to the masses doesn't mean you're necessarily the best of anything, but to those people you've introduced you can have an emotional connection that overwhelms all logic, and to them will always be superior and special... like you said.![]()
That being said, don't be surprised when others aren't swayed the same way. Just like Chuck D.
Wholeheartedly agree here, this is the reason I attribute their edge over Radiohead in regards to the hype around here in those other threads. The rarity of their show also plays a role to the myth like persona.

Daft Punk are not pioneers. At least not musically.
