they aren't that big of a deal because there are other artists out there in the same genre with way better discographies and set ups. (plastikman comes to mind) plus the way that everyone around here seems to hype them up means that they're only gonna be let down if it doesn't match the pyramid. i don't really blame dp for not touring since then. that being said, i still like them a lot, but it feels like a waste to keep wishing for them.

Daft Punk opened a genre of music to a generation that didn't even know it existed. I'm one of those people. There is a reason why there is some type of God Myth-like aura associated with Daft Punk.

Not really an argument, merely saying that just as there are a lot of people that roll their eyes at mention of the mystique/importance of Elvis, even though he too was a pioneer in the ears of the mainstream.

Introducing something to the masses doesn't mean you're necessarily the best of anything, but to those people you've introduced you can have an emotional connection that overwhelms all logic, and to them will always be superior and special... like you said.
