Great photos! Moog Fest was amazing! I had a fantastic time. Definitely going next year. Ashville was such an unexpected city. I really enjoyed my time there. When I was waiting for my plane I saw Jame Murphy just chilling waiting for his flight to La Guardia. I saw a few other performers hanging around, they looked familiar, but couldn't come up with their names.

What's the festival like? Layout, crowd, atmosphere, sound, etc. This year's lineup looked really good, and I'd consider it next year if similar quality acts are booked.

I walked into the last 40 minutes or so, and walked out amazed. I seriously didn't see one show that wasn't spectacular all weekend. Asheville is one of my favorite places to go, amd they've really nailed.it on the head with this festival. Great line up, great venues, great people...everything. Can't wait until next year.

I thought EOTO was absolutely epic too, for anybody that caught that.

Frank, it was a pleasure meeting you! This is my favorite festival and one of my favorite towns. I'll be going to this one for a while...

I caught some of Tangerine Dream but Moby was too good to miss...then I had to sneak into an at-capacity FlyLo.

To answer some questions above, I'd have to say it was a quite an excellent concert. The town is very nice, the people are friendly, and everything is walking distance.

The only venue that was a little ways out was the Orange Peel which wasn't even that far.

Several venues got to capacity but I arrived early and never had a problem getting in.

The town itself has many nice restaurants and bars.

I only had trouble finding Diana Wortham theater and the Moogaplex.

I would definitely do this festival again.

And I would even visit the town just to explore it and the outlying areas.

I did! Thanks for your concern. They were completely different days, by the way. During Tangerine Dream, I was at Holy Fuck (who I also had a ton of fun seeing, in case you were concerned about that as well.)

Everyone should definitely try to attend this next year, I highly recommend this event and Ashville as a city in general.

I was so happy by this I even donated money to the Bob Moog Foundation.

It's cool i just noticed yr taste in music is awful and has no kraut or berlin school acts in it; I understand

Man, I was just listening to the All Songs Considered podcast about Moogfest, and the way those guys described the festival sounds pretty magical. Wish I had gone.

I went last year and it was pretty rad. Unfortunately couldn't go this year but am pretty set to make it in 2012. I just listened to the All Songs episode and I feel like their excitement over it was justified. Wayne Coyne said it was the best festival, if that means anything to you. Two years in a row now they've booked tons of great acts, and this year they expanded it in good ways with things like the outdoor venue and the Eno lecture. Asheville is really pretty and driving around in the country by it gives really great views. I hope this festival continues to grow and grow until it takes over the world like an electronic disease.

I've heard nothing but good things about Moby. I'm jealous. I hope Coach books Amon Tobin, as I need to see that setup in real life.

I wrote about my experience at last year's Moog (I drove from North Dakota and slept in my car all three days) if anyone is interested. It's a personal account, and has more to do with what was going on in my life than the festival, but it's all centered around my time there. If anyone is interested in reading, I'm posting it here (if you don't feel like investing a ton of time, day 3 is a pretty good read all by itself).

They mentioned on the facebook page that they tried to get ELP (Emerson, Lake and Palmer) for 2011 but couldn't because of scheduling and were going to try for 2012. If get them, I'm already in for 2012.

Did anyone see Suicide last year? If so, how were they?

I caught a few minutes of Suicide but I was too overwhelmed by my friend's "experience" to really enjoy it. I think Ardentbiscuit could give more insight into Suicide.

This is my favorite festival in the country. Hopefully, it doesn't fall into the pressure of these dumbasses requesting the UMF lineup (more or less).
