I was on the fence before, but Moby + Band = Must See!

I'm amazed by this line up and they are going to add even more!

They promised 60+ acts this year!!!!!

    Edit:

They also posted this on their Facebook page which makes me wonder what else is in store..

Moogfest: Evan's right. There will be several more announcements about additions to the line up and more in the coming weeks. We aren't intentionally holding back anything, but we're working on several special projects with artists that take some time to lock down for certain. We're very excited about the projects we have cooking though.

This honestly just makes me angry. They can put something like this together, but Bonnaroo is Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, and Bassnectar. What the fuck.

Ashley Capps tweeted a response to someone who asked something along the lines of "where's all the electronic acts?" with something along the lines of "go to Moog instead".

    smh.

That was really frustrating, but why would they care really when they could bring Pretty Lights/Girl Talk/ Bassnectar every year and have them playing to overflowing tents?

I was completely sold on Portishead not headlining this festival.

    But, but, but...

Still a long shot, but that's certainly a glimmer of hope.

Beak> is already playing, so one of the guys will already be in town so who knows.

I would like to see Brian Eno added, that would be exceptional.

Jesus. If that happens, I HAVE to go. I don't care if I have to drive the 10 hours all by myself, I'll make it happen.

So the additions are coming this month...

Payment Plan Ticket Sales End on Friday, August 5

Time is running out on your chance to purchase Moogfest Payment Plan tickets! All orders must be placed by Friday, August 5 at 11:59 PM EST.

Visit moogfest.com for full details on the Moogfest Payment Plan.

    Moogfest Crash Pad

You've got your tickets, now you need a place to crash and it’s never too early to start thinking about it! (Yeah, I know I sound like your mom…) We’ve got a slew of suggested sleeping options on our website, including some of the best hotels within "hoofin’ it" distance.

If you prefer to put your brain on autopilot and let us deal with sticky booking issues, check out our Travel Packages! Each travel package includes a pair of passes and a hotel room for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Marriott Renaissance, plus additional perks.

If you’re the outdoorsy type consider exploring some of Asheville's best camping spots by clicking here. Other options are also available at the Explore Asheville website.

Then again, if you prefer your festivals a little on the “crashy” side consider calling that Asheville friend you haven't talked to in five years. Just tell 'em it's for a good cause. Or ask some other Moogfest attendees if they want to bunk up for the weekend. If you enjoy sleeping in strange places you could also check out www.couchsurfing.org.

We've got a ton of tantalizing Moogfest information coming your way including a couple of dozen new lineup additions, new workshops, panels, discussions, interactive experiences, venues, and more than a few very cool surprises. It'll all start to unfold in the month of August, so stay in touch…

View the (ever-expanding) lineup and purchase your weekend passes at moogfest.com.

    From Facebook.

We're psyched for tomorrow. Wanna know why? We've got a very special project that we've been working hard to bring to fruition and now we're finally able to tell you about it. We're thrilled and we think you'll be over the moon about it too. Then, early next week, we've got a whole slew of new artists to add to this year's Moogfest line up. See you in the morning!

This is going to be incredible. They are really putting together another nice festival in addition to last year's inaugural fest and Asheville is such an awesome place. Too bad other festivals can't pull this off...Orlando Calling.

BRIAN ENO COMES TO MOOGFEST 2011

    77 Million Paintings

We’re supremely stoked to announce that Brian Eno will be bringing his remarkable exhibition 77 Million Paintings to Asheville during the Moogfest 2011 weekend!

Conceived by Eno as “visual music,” 77 Million Paintings is a constantly evolving sound and image-scape born from his exploration of light as an artistic medium and his interest in the aesthetic possibilities of generative software. Presented on a uniquely configured constellation of video monitors, 77 Million Paintings is a serene and beautiful work, slowly evolving and transforming in time such that no two instants are quite the same. It is art that encourages the viewer to slow down and enter a contemplative state, reflecting on the uniqueness of a passing moment that has almost certainly never existed before.

77 Million Paintings will be exhibited at the YMI Cultural Center, in the heart of downtown Asheville. For full ticketing info and hours of operation, please click here.

    “Illustrated Talk”

Best known for his work in music, Eno has written, performed and produced some of most memorable recordings in the history of modern music. Yet for this extraordinary big-thinker, music is but one aspect of a creative and intellectual life that fills a boundary blurring range of endeavors. Brian Eno is a much sought after visual artist, lecturer, writer, and futurologist whose thought-provoking ideas and observations are in demand by institutions and think tanks on subjects as diverse as concepts of time, urban futures and the role and history of art.

Details regarding Eno’s Illustrated Talk will be released in the coming weeks, but it will be a separately ticketed event.
