How would an essential mix belong on a list of official/studio releases?

I've checked out almost nothing this year. Right now I'm working my way back through months of podcasts to get a sense of what albums I want to listen to. Feeling a little distressed by how much I've missed. :/

I think essential mixes should count. I included Fabriclive 50 by Dbridge and instra:mental on my list last year and I don't see how that is different than an essential mix. I also think I included Cut Copys Fabric mix whatever year that came out...and if I didn't I should have.

I was lukewarm on the album. They are great live though.

I liked the production a lot, but the dude rapping/yelling gets irritating quickly.

Gosh, that's a lot of albums I haven't listened to yet. The little I've heard of Austra I have *LOVED*, intend to listen to that this weekend.

And I just don't get the James Blake fanaticism?
