    Default The Allman Brothers Band

Dedication to one of Rock N Roll's most influential and greatest musicians to ever live. Has anyone ever seen them live before?

Bought tickets to the Oakland show during the presale-I'm guessing they'll sell out ASAP tho.

I've seen them many times over the last 20 years, and although their lineup has changed over the years, they still put on a quality show.

Their Beacon DVD is fucking awesome. I went to see three of the Beacon shows in 2005 and was completely blown away.

Butch Trucks has set up a website where you can stream their current Beacon shows, which will be archived on the site for six months. My old man laid down the $100 and then sent me his login info. The shows have been pretty solid. Since this is the 40 year anniversary of the band, they are having a bunch of special guests who Duane played with in his session days. Boz Scaggs doing "Loan Me A Dime" with them on Thursday night was the definition of epic.

I don't know . . . there's A LOT of shit from the mid-70s and 80s when Gregg's heroin addiction got waaaay out of control. Those albums just sound like rehashes of the same formula. The first four albums are the bread and butter of the Allman's catalog, IMO.

Having recently seen ABB at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix I can attest to the fact that this is as close to an actual show you can find without being there. As for the setlist, it is indicative of the sets they have played on their entire tour. The mixture of their older songs, along with the newest additions prove that the Brothers are as vital and strong as ever.
