im leaning towards week one but dont know....everything mentioned above by courtney in the cons list is what is bothering me, plus the chance of some acts being different.

The unimpeachably best reason to pick Weekend #1: the diehards will be there, making for a better crowd. The downmarket fans will all end up at Weekend #2 when they buy tickets after #1 sells out/the lineup is released.

PROS TO WEEKEND 1

• Grass not yet trampled
• Cooler weather
• Get enjoy seeing everything for yourself before hearing about things second-hand
• Ability to snag limited-release Coachella merch before it sells out
• Ability to go to a normal record store to get limited-release merch on Record Store Day (April 21)
• Possibly hanging out with more friends who are coming on the first weekend?
• Missing 4/20 on the fields

CONS TO WEEKEND 1

• More press d-bags rushing to snap photos and pen articles on deadline
• Possibly more crowded?
• Reunions and rare acts could use first weekend as a sort of warm-up date
• Staff and temporary hire employees will be more used to their responsibilities by the second weekend, meaning things might run less smoothly on the first weekend
• Bands might save their "real" closing numbers and big encores for the second weekend

Another CON to weekend 1: there may be deeper cuts in T-shirt prices by the close of weekend 2, resulting in better deals (less of a variety though).

As much as I would love to celebrate my birthday (Apr 20) at Coachella, my friends and I are deciding on weekend 1. We want to experience whatever magic is left first hand.

That's a pretty legitimate concern IMO. There could be a certain level of burn-out by the second weekend.

We will only be able to make one weekend and the earlier the better and hope for the cooler weather option. Personally I do not have an issue with 2 Coachella's and I wish I could go to both:-) We won't be doing a big group thing though since Coachella does not really allow that to happen and will probably rent a house instead of the campground this time. Security was so lame I just don't want to deal with it again.

Well, since all 156 of us will likely buy up all 70,000 of the pre-sale tix for the first weekend....most likely.

I'm hoping on weekend one, but its going to depend on my friends. I doubt weekend one is going to sell out without a line up on pre-sale. Its the casual fan, especially with the such the weak big name headliners as of late, that has sold out the last few coachellas; not the die hard music fans. Unless enough rich douches have started attending.
