The jump in price from last year makes me wonder about how awesome the "still to be announced" list is. $75 this year and that's the special pre-sale price.

On sale now with code BLOCKPARTY. General public tomorrow.

Pretty smashing line-up so far, I must say. And....Fed X!!!!!!

Edit: Oh my god this is exciting news from the CHBP website!

    * Note: The last two years of the festival have sold out, and this year we’re lowering capacity each day and the number of tickets available, so we encourage you to purchase in advance.

Looks like a good time. I've never been - how is the set up? Is it something like San Diego Street Scene where there's just multiple stages around the streets? I'm considering this, that is a great price.

This Festival has the worst Festival crowd I have ever encountered. The majority of the attendees are more interested in drinking in the street than they are with listening to good music. Lowering the capacity this year can only be a good thing.

The Fest is held in Seattle's Capital Hill neighborhood, both in and outdoors; Neumos (cool music venue) and two stages in the streets. There isn't much sound bleed at all.

Damn. That's easily the best block party lineup yet, or my favorite anyway. Totally worth $75 anyway. Shame that I'll be out of town. So it goes.

No? Capitol Hill is a very gay neighborhood and the block party describes itself as "freak-friendly."

Good points. I just associate Capital Hill more as Hipster than I do as Gay.

    This sounds pretty cool.

But this does not. Any description of a festival that starts with "this festival has the worst festival crowd I have ever encountered" makes me want to pass. City festivals kinda suck.

In the past, this has been an overpacked clusterfuck. I'm glad to hear that they're reducing capacity this year because that fenced in area of Capitol Hill can only comfortably contain so many drunk texting hipsters.

I went to one day of this last year and it was great fun. Yes, lots of drunk texting hipsters, but I certainly did not have as bad of an experience as Eric. If I was in Vancouver while this was happening, I might have tried to make it down. But I am not going to be, so I wont be there.

Check out Teen Daze though. He is from Abbotsford, BC and is good peoples and is very fun live.

I keep forgetting how close I am to Canada when I visit. I'm so use to being next to Mexico most of my life. I have to hit up the Canadian boardies for things to do if I end up making a trip up one day.

Anyway, I'll continue to keep this on my radar. I know my bf (who lives here) really isn't pushing to go so this is all on me. If the weather ends up anything like the last few days then it will be a great way to spend the weekend!
