I just had Gayngs playing at the time when we drove James Blake to Dim Mak Studios. It wasn't his choice. The guys in the band liked it but James was whatever. I think Gayngs is better on CD than live.

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Balcony is still available for the Fonda in September, considering it. Thought it would have all sold out. I guess nobody wants to sit in the balcony.

I can't decide. I don't know how I feel about the floor (if there was a 2nd night added) at the Fonda for James Blake, even the rail is a bit disconnected. His music feels too intimate, it's not like there's a lot going on stage. The Troubadour was perfect.

Admittedly I didn't move around much (did anyone?) for the show, with the exception of stuff like Klavierwerke. I'm not entirely opposed to the balcony. Give me some wisdom.

Presale for $55.00 was the best move I ever made. I didn't think it would really get to $74.00! Worth it though if you've never seen him.

This article lists Chase & Status and Nero as post-dubstep. Is that right?

Don't mind Tommy. If it's anything that requires any kind of open mind or patience, you have to first mash it up and put it in a sippy cup or else he'll just spit it out and throw it off his highchair.

I visited Amoeba today (totally for the Purchases thread) and left with The Bells Sketch 12" EP and "Air & Lack Thereof" 12" Single. They are terrific. I also have his CMYK and Klavierwerke EPs, also great.

But what's really great is Bombe's mash up of Blake and Drake. Not a bad start to his collection, plus it's a great mellow mix for any occasion.

The odds are good. This had to happen eventually, and like I explained before... now that he's hitting a bigger market, he needs to deliver more shit. The Fonda is going to go nuts when that song drops. Along with a few more surprises, watch.

Haha, Supre was right all along! I'll have to go to the 18th show, as Bon Iver is on the 19th. Balcony tickets are still available, thinking of just going for it.
