I just read a good description of James Blake:
James Blake just sounds like Bon Iver with beats.

Fresh off his "JUICY AUSTRALIA TOUR"
His voice does resemble Justin Vernon's
This was just posted on James' Facebook.
Going live on KEXP SEATTLE in 20 mins. Tune in here http://kexp.org/Default.aspx or 90.3fm in the Seattle area.
Oh my god Lindisfarne sounds so amazing live...
I love how the host sounds so intimidated. Did you hear her say "is that it?" after one of his tracks?

OK, so nobody wants to trade tickets, so if there's anyone in the Bay Area who wants to go to the James Blake show on Sunday, all you have to do is figure out what I'd have to do to get my will call ticket switched over to your name. If you do the legwork there, you've got a free ticket.
Aw, you can't make it?
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
Nope. I was supposed to start work on Tuesday and it would have been perfect, but one of the people hired hasn't been fully trained on federal habeas law so now all the new employees have to show up a day earlier than planned. I'm bummed, but I'm also saving probably 100 bucks in gas.

It's not clarified if he will be using that new light show for his May shows. Does anyone know if the light show at his previous shows was any good? Also, according to the press release:
James is currently collaborating with United Visual Artists, a lighting design group who have worked on the likes of the Massive Attack’s 100th Window world tour as well as U2’s Vertigo tour, creating a tailor-made, mighty impressive visual experience for the audience.
And you can see him and that "mighty impressive" light show at the following dates:
James Blake UK Tour (June):
01/06 - Liquid Rooms - Edinburgh
02/06 - Oran Mor - Glasgow
04/06 - Academy 2 - Newcastle
05/06 - Stanley Theatre - Liverpool
07/06 - Sankeys - Manchester
08/06 - HMV Library - Birmingham
13/06 - Komedia - Brighton
14/06 - Koko - London
16/06 - The Globe - Cardiff
James Blake US Tour (May):
08/05 - Rock N Roll Hotel - Washington, DC
09/05 - First Unitarian Church - Philadelphia, PA
11/05 - Bowery Ballroom - New York, NY
12/05 - LPR - New York, NY
14/05 - The Rivoli - Toronto, Canada
15/05 - Schubas Tavern - Chicago, IL
16/05 - 7th Street Entry - Minneapolis, MN
19/05 - Tractor Tavern - Seattle, WA
20/05 - Doug Fir Lounge - Portland, OR
22/05 - Great American Music Hall - San Francisco, CA
23/05 - Troubadour - Hollywood, CA
24/05 - Hollywood Forever - Los Angeles, CA
BTW, this comes from this: http://drownedinsound.com/news/41425...ounces-uk-tour
Looked at Youtube for the last week of shows, nada. I guess its for europe and beyond....
Oh well. I don't think they are needed for his type of music.
Fuck, so when do these go on sale?
That show is going to be huge... Probably way better than these first two.

So the Fonda show's not onsale yet, right? It says no tickets available, and the price range says "$0.00" which is usually what it says before they have everything worked out on the page.

Pretty much. This info didn't really hit the surface until this morning anyway. The TM page just has a couple of errors, I'm assuming it'll be fixed by Monday morning.

Because the first trek into the bigger market always packs a punch. I imagine he'll be doing new songs, a longer set, and probably an awesome stage set up. Plus, it'll be louder. The sound at The Kills was GREAT. Trust me I love that these first shows are at intimate venues but this stuff needs to be on tons of LOUD speakers with lots of bass. He is an electronic musician after all.
Edit: This coming from a guy who's seeing him at the Troub and Hollywood Forever.
