Ugh. I feel bad for the bands and all -- but as someone who lives within the SJ boundaries, I fucking HATE this sad excuse for a festival. I can't leave my house with my car during the whole weekend, let alone even walk on my street without being accused of trying to "trespass" into the festival.
Beer bottles on my lawn, garbage all on my car/down the street (never cleaned up by SJ BTW) -- and you'd think they'd offer free admission last year to the residents inconvenienced by this asshattery? Nope. Nothing. Not even an apology when I complained about being harassed by SJ security. If I want to walk where I do every day FOR FREE, I'd have to pay $50 for the weekend. Fucking lame.
SJ has been a nasty lot of neighbors for a few years now (my neighbors who have lived in the area longer than me hate it even more than I do). Silver Lake jubilee were much more pleasant neighbors and were really concerned with the residents -- shitty lineup or not, I appreciated their festival much more.
