I bet most of you had music in your collection at age 15 that was 10x worse than Deadmaufive.

No sir, I've always had a music collection that is culturally relevant and respectable amongst my peers and elders. If you disagree, you must be younger and listen to dubstep or OFTGWHASTOOMANYCAPS.
Rape rap. You kids are awful. Least in my day people just committed suicide and left everyone wondering "why?"

I was a big John Denver buff when I was 15 so eat it.

So, It's been awhile since I've been to a Palladium show but will be down there for the Z-Trip one tomorrow. PARKING? I don't mind walking 1/4 mile or so and I'll be getting down there around 5ish. Any suggestions or will I be stuck with a $20 parking tab?
Park on Las Palmas south of Sunset. Its a doozy.
Just get there early before they hit "capacity" on the floor. Even though you can clearly see a ton of space available (NINFarewell)
On the bright side if you're into teenagers, you'll have plenty to gawk at.
Anyone know set times for this? and who is opening tonight and tmrw. I know Jason Bentley is opening the weekend shows.
EDIT: nm palladium just posted..
set times for deadmau5: 8/25: Doors 8:30pm, Zedd 8:45, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero 9:45pm, Excision 10:50pm, deadmau5 12am
Who's Excision? Any good?

All of the bitching on facebook about "ALL THOSE RULES" is fucking hilarious
As for parking, Las Palmas works (it's a bit of walk though, no?), so does El Centro. Anything South/East of there should be pretty easy. Just be aware of a lot of one-hour and two-hour parking until 8pm. If you get there early enough you can valet for $3 or $5 at Dillon's depending on the time, just buy a $3 beer inside and get your ticket validated.

^ I am mistaken, I meant El Centro, that is the money street for parking for the Palladium. Unless you throw money around like its raining cash money.

Wow, Deadmau5 at midnight? I wonder if the schedule is staying the same for the whole run. I could maybe catch the show on Sunday.
Went last minute, held out until about 1030, got 2 tickets for $50. Sometimes cheesy, bro, party music on a thursday night after a really long treading week is just what is needed. Started both pits for Excision. Deadmau5 kids hated us for that. Sorry if you can't agree with this, I had fun and I'm not really into Deadmau5. I also don't care if you think i have shitty taste in music for attending this. I wonder how many people from the board will be there in secret this weekend, its ok though guys you can live a little. Meeting up with board members in person i feel like everyone has a "confession" about who they will see live but not post about on the boards.
TOTALLY COOL STORY BRO!!! OMG!
I enjoyed Ex at Coachella. I was pretty excited to see him but 12th Planet's set outshined Ex's so I felt a little let down. Deadmau5's live show seems a bit underrated on the board. I'm not a huge fan of his music but I am far from hating him. Glad you had fun, wish I could be there.
I completely agree with this post. I can't figure out where the hate for Deadmau5 started on this board, but his new setup is flat out brilliant. The visuals are seriously some of the best I've seen. He has $750,000 dollars in led screens for christ sake!! And to be able see him in a small round venue like the Palladium makes so you can have a great spot no matter where you stand. Think about it, he just played in front of 40,000 people at Lolla and now you LA folks can see him with about 1,500 people. He doesn't go on til midnight so those is no excuse for those of you who work in the evening. Go see this show!! He'll probably be main stage next year with this setup so this gives you a chance to get a great spot and see what it's all about.
Have any of you ever gone back and watched the Daft Punk setup from 06? It kinda looks archaic now. It was groundbreaking and amazing but I'll take Deadmau5's visuals over DP's any day. Maybe they haven't toured again because of the pressure to come up with something as amazing as Deadmau5, Amon tobin's new set up, or plastikman's visuals so they are hesitant to come back. Don't get me wrong, musically Daft Punk is a different beast, but I am not ashamed to profess my love for the Mau5.
Everybody on here loves Daft Punk but hates Deadmau5. It makes no sense. Give the fiver another chance this weekend!! You won't regret it.
"Monklish Licker"
More like 5,000 people in the palladium, but I get what you're saying.

Some people prefer mixing/music to visuals.
Deadmau5 was fun when I saw him without his visuals in early 2010... then I saw him at Sasquatch (with his visuals) and it was extremely boring. Go figure.

But its like totally hip to hate on deadmau5.
Daft Punk has been putting out quality jams since the mid 90's, please dont compare them to Deadmau5.
Ive watched the Mau5 progress and become more and more popular by the second. People hate on whats popular.... but lets face it. He has pre-recorded sets that are basically choreographed to his 750,000 dollars worth of LED screens. It gets old after youve seen it a few times.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)

I dig The Fiver.
He gets a bad rap because of his awful, underage following, and of course, the Mau5-heads. It's a terrible crowd that most, understandably, cannot stand to be around.
Musically he isn't brilliant by any means, but there are certainly worse options out there, i.e. Skrilly Vanilly.
