Yeah I told all my friends in Berlin to attend that but none of them did. Really wanted to see Shapednoise, Samuel Kerridge, and Positive Centre (out of curiosity).
Speaking of things going on in Berlin - If anyone on here will be in Berlin next month I highly recommend checking out this new space some friends of mine have put together:
the quietus is streaming the new violetshaped album ...

Rhythm is a dancer.
Telrae is a great little label. Really enjoyed the recent releases by Salz and Van Bonn as well.
Cio D'Or USA Tour:
4/24 Seattle - Q
4/26 Los Angeles - Dirty Epic (private warehouse)
4/27 Boulder - Communikey Festival

Matt John is pretty thug. This one has always been an all time favorite of mine. I've always wanted to play it as a DJ but never became one. Steve Bug and a few other DJs beat me to it anyway.
Check 10dens out too. Anything they touch is beautiful.
I'd do suprefan.
Ok so hear me out:
I'm a minimal techno / UK bass kind of guy. I spent the nineties /early 00s making fun of people like Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk because I was all Kid606 and Aphex'd out and fuck those guys etc.
But I recently got into the album by Lorenzo Senni called Quantum Jelly on Editions Mego, and he does this bizarre minimal take on trance music using only a Roland Jp-8000 (prompting me to buy a JP-8000 on EBay, lol).
So I've kinda been listening to trance in secret while I write my dissertation. Don't tell anyone.
My question is this, and I would only trust the opinion of this thread: who looks lame on the lineup but might actually be epic. I rolled my eyes at the Fatboy Slim booking a few years back, but then I listened to a download of his set and he actually kind of killed it, IMO. Will someone like Paul Oakenfold bring something redeeming this year? What mainstream act should I take a chance on?
1 Coachella before I got sober, 7 since. I support both versions. If you wanna do the sober version, roll with us:

i would not chance on oakenfold. he will probably be debuting a lot of his new material which he has said will feature A LOT of pop vocalists. not what you are looking for i don't think.

This Mick Finesse mix is particularly wonderful:

Vessel's Dreaming in Paris and Pictureland are amazing albums. Fans of that dark vibe should check out material on Blackest Ever Black
The only thing I've really gotten into from Blackest Ever Black was that Raime album. It took me a second to get into that cuz I lumped it in with a bunch of other dark ambient stuff I listen to, but the weight and depth of it finally sunk in. Vinyl helped
Where do you recommend I go next with the Blackest Ever stuff?

Have you listened to the new Prurient album out on the label? So good.
Thought you'd enjoy it.
Re: blackest ever black, raime, prurient, tropic of cancer, silent servant all seem like plausible fyf acts. I'd be thrilled to see some of them booked.
Nice. So looking forward to that.
New E.R.P. (Convextion) is pretty tasty:
Also that John Swing RA was groovy as hell, probably should be in the house thread but fuck it you'll all enjoy it
