My fingers are crossed that I'll be able to catch Luciano's set.

6/6: The Field @ The Independent

will probably make an effort to see Harvey, Four Tet, Jamie xx and perhaps Julio Bashmore. no problem w/ missing the rest.
let's hope weekend 2 ultimately sells out. if it doesn't, i imagine 2014 will see the return of the chumpy "EDM" of last year.
Lulz have you ever seen Luciano??? He's fucking awful, like the Tiesto of mainstream tech-house, awful awful awful
and I don't understand why people are excited over this years' coachella line-up, I see a lot of shitty mainroom ibiza bullshit.
lolol fck Luciano
DJ Harvey is honestly one of the only good bookings on there and he's not very appropriate for a festival setting imo.
I saw Emptyset, TM404, and Diamond Version @ Berghain last night, was mindblowing.

^ Emptyset was amazing at Decibel. Played alongside Kangding Ray (who was the best in the showcase) and Byetone. Strongly reaffirmed my love for Raster Norton.
This is the first Coachella I'll be missing since 2006. If I still lived as close as I have for the past 6 years I might consider but honestly I can't justify the plane ticket with the lineup how it is (where the fuck is The Knife?). Oh well...Maybe I'll finally make it to DEMF![]()
Got a free ticket to Dimensions via my german friend... now I just have to make it to Croatia.
Going to Coachella and even camping it this time. Jamie xx, Cassy, the 2 Bears, and Paul Kalkbrenner are high on my list. Haven't done any research on the Sunday undercard but I imagine I'll be spending a good amount of time that day at the Sahara or whatever the new stage is. Hoping there will be a few gems in the Do Lab and Heineken Dome.

I can't believe we're in agreement.
Also, I spent an hour yesterday reading whiny stories on the internet about people getting rejected at the door at Berghain. As I'm spending a week in Berlin in June, I expect I'll be back here before the trip asking what other venues are best in case Berghain isn't possible. (Which would be a bummer since I only have one weekend there, but I definitely understand why they have the door policy that they have). At least I was able to plan my travels to include a stay until a Monday, so I'd have all day/night Sunday to play there. I've heard it's easier to get in on Sunday early AM after 5 or 6 or so?
Nate, I don't know if you've checked out the Dimensions thread, but Reid is going this year. That festival sounds terrific. I'm already overbooked with plans this year, but I'm hoping it's something I make it to next year or the year after.
You should definitely try to do DEMF. It's pretty economical aside from the plane tickets.

nd_baumecker kicking things off at panorama bar last weekend. 4 hrs.
chockablock w/ fun cuts. mostly house of course but sure all in here will appreciate. not gonna fuss w/ reviving the house thread as it seems to die a quick death whenever bumped.
I wish the house thread wasn't always pounced on by people with terrible taste in music. I've been in the mood for some new stuff, but that thread becomes off-putting every time it's revived.
are you on ? chia? you'd probably like the house thread in there
I saw the PAN Label showcase at Beghain tonight and oh my fucking god, one of the best nights of electronic music I have ever experienced. Mark Fell, Keith Fullerton Whitman and Lee Gamble all performed amazing sets, but the absolute highlight had to be Heatsick, he performed his extended play piece and played for about 3+hours, everyone was absolutely losing it to just one guy and his Casio.
I feel like the door policy at Berghain is blown a bit out of proportion, as long a you don't go in a large group you'll most definitely get in for the most part, and yeah a lot of Berliners go for the Sunday morning/afternoon thing, if you're a dude you can always go to the sex dungeon below and get a stamp that will get you past the queue at Berghain hahahaah
Good to know. I'd never try it in a group, I'd either be alone or with a gay male Berliner friend. It almost seems like many of the people who get turned away are over eager or over dressed, though that's just hearsay for me. There's so much other stuff to do that I wouldn't be too stressed about it.
If I were male, I'd not hesitate to try the lab.oratory stamp method.
New Actress EP. Love the first track, iffy on the second two, but they might just need a couple more listens.
Pretty sure the Lab is strictly men only
And can you even imagine me putting on heels to go dancing? If I see a chick tottering around in heels, I'm half tempted to elbow her out of the way and laugh when she falls down. :/
NSFW...also, post op transexuals.

I thought Tin Man was a little bit underwhelming (though in relation to the enormous amount of hype I allowed myself to believe -- still a really good show).
Really liking the sounds coming from Sweden lately: https://soundcloud.com/4cr0nym/acronym-dimensional
Also the new Dino Sabatini mix for Smoke Machine really incredible. Highly recommended.
