about:blank and Stattbad are both incredible venues, too.

about:blank has a huge outdoor area where they play into Monday morning if the weather is nice and two indoor rooms split between dark, ravey techno sounds and house (one night I was there, you could hear Sylvester being played in one room and O/V/R in the other).

Stattbad is in a repurposed YMCA-type building. The Boiler Room is perfectly sweaty and cramped with blaring Funktions and the main dance floor is in a drained swimming pool, the DJ booth at the bottom of the deep end.

MPIA3's "definition" of this track is my favorite bit of techno in 2012. Shame I can't find a youtube or soundcloud stream to post. Appears at the tail end of Blawan's Life Festival set and in the back 1/3 of Surgeon's recent dynamic tension mix. Both deserve a full listen in their own right.

Fingers crossed for MPIA3 somehow making it stateside at some point.

Or Blawan, Shifted, Sigha, Truss etc ... ergo my excitement at having Untold at the end of the month (w/ Moodymann downstairs at the same party no less!). Seems a purple patch for british techno atm.
