^^^ going to second that. Kangding Ray played a very very impressive set at dB. See him if you have the chance.

What did you think? Just saw him at dB on Sunday night and it was absolutely fantastic. Only wish it had been a longer set. I have tickets to see him twice more on this tour, and I'd thought that would be overkill and that I'd probably bail on one or both of the remaining shows but now I definitely want to see the show a couple more times.
I've been really digging into the sets from the old Bar 25 crew lately. They are so evenly paced and the progression has a real sense of emotion. Particularly exciting me at the moment is Mira's set from the closing of Bar 25, but the entire crew (Dirty Doering, Beaner, Nu, etc...) have Soundcloud's that are full of treats.

That track that starts an hour and thirty four minutes into the above set is driving me crazy.
^ Caught Beaner once or twice in SF (from whence he came, if I'm not mistaken). Great record bag.
Looking for an ID on a track that Derek Plaslaiko dropped as he was handing off to Peter Van Hoesen on Friday last. The drums were very distinctive, akin to something you might expect from a civil war era military band. Strange, I know, but that's the best i can do as far as descriptions go. Seemed a bit silly at first but it absolutely CRUSHED the dancefloor ... not unlike SIS's Trompeta from a few years back.
abdulla tour in 2013- yupyup

its gone
Grischa Lichtenberger's "And IV [Inertia]" - just go fucking buy it. no need to preview
Rhythm is a dancer.
The new Dino Sabatini album, Shaman's Path, is pretty good--heads up to everyone that enjoyed the VFTL release this year, similar vibes.
waka waka
Tony is off the hook. I'm excited to have him out.
You'll probably enjoi Dasha Rush and her LADA project as well.
and well, she's the most beautiful woman in the world... like, ever
Rhythm is a dancer.
Are you insinuating some West Coast dates are forthcoming from Dasha Rush?![]()
waka waka
absolutely not 8^)
This will be the last time I say it: Grischa Lichtenberger's "And IV [Inertia]" go, buy it in the highest quality and listen to it. right now, right now. right fucking now

of all the stuff upcoming, im most excited for Tin Man live. Been digging for sets lately - they are not easy to come by - but this one he explores his deeper stuff, with live vocals and then the more dancey shit: http://soundcloud.com/shaddockrecord...2-tin-man-live
Not the best recording quality but I still love it.
Rhythm is a dancer.
Not at all easy to come by. Thanks much. This is also the show I'm most looking forward to over the course of the next couple of months.
Of course he's going up against Traversable Wormhole and Moodymann on the same damn night.![]()
i hope for some resolution to all those conflicts
enjoying the new Dino Sabatini. also the new minilogue
Rhythm is a dancer.
That is a painful conflict. Wow. Good luck with that one.
Dino Sabatini is amazing. I am using one of his tracks on a mix I'm working on. Will share with you guys soon.
I wasn't aware there was a new Minilogue.. must have passed under my radar. dling now ^_^
I really want to see Blawan again. Is he just not going to get booked in the US?![]()
He plays all over Europe quite a bit so I'd fathom there's some specific issue with him obtaining an artist visa in the state,
I'd also be interested to see him bring his new live project with Pariah as Karenn over to the states too
Listening to Regis on youtube kind of pales in comparison to the actual records
but maaaaaan, I forgot how much I loved some of his old tracks
Yea, Ross and I snooped around the internet earlier this year, and found that he'd done a show in NYC last year, but apparently nothing in the states since. Does seem to indicate a visa issue, doesn't it? Can't imagine it's just a lack of interest. Karenn sounds very interesting. I'm starting to accept that I'm just going to have to go overseas to see this stuff...
Heidi - I want to come down to SF this weekend for Move D and Rrose. Know of any super cheap ways to get from Seattle to SF? I'm on the lookout for last minute airline deals but no luck so far. Let me know if you think of/see anything.
And yes Blawan/Karenn need(s) to play the states asap. I would grow my hair out just to headbang at that show.
Not really. Airfare is fairly expensive at the moment. If you have extra time, it looks like Greyhound is under $200 RT. You might also check Craigslist for a ride share?
Aurgasm - yes, this weekend. Move D is doing an extended set on Thursday, then a Reagenz set on Friday, and Rrose is on Saturday.
Ooh, hope you make it down for RRose, Nathan!

and yes, we are having Pan-Pot play two sets on January 19, 2013. So, ya know... come out. I'm booking some crazy shit for that friday too. gonna go snowboarding with the guys then come back to the dancefloor. xo
