Ive never understood this genre label. Why do they call things minimal that has so much actually going on? Do they just try and differentiate from banger party housr/techno?
"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."
I hope that means there is a SF date. I'd like to not to go to Hard.![]()
Oooh. Hope TI snags Talabot and School of Seven Bells. Those 2 alone would ensure my attendance.

We had this discussion in this thread w/in the first 10 pages IIRC. When people talk about minimal techno they usually mean the m-nus type stuff of the mid-noughties, but it has other connotations of a more aged vintage.
"Minimal" house, to me, is really what people commonly refer to as micro-house.
Edit: Feel free to disregard all of the above. People far more knowledgeable than I have far more enlightening thoughts on the mattter.

No I'd agree that is a good push in the right direction. Just peruse this thread, especially in the beginning, and you'll find great examples with discussion on the topic. It's evolved quite a bit, and now its used as a more general term which can be pretty confusing to someone who doesn't follow techno closely. Purists will argue that it's often misused in today's context though, so much of this is debatable anyways. Good luck.

Nate, I did listen you to your Herald track yesterday but not on my good headphones or intently. I will, and I'll give you my feedback.
* Edit: Shifted RA podcast is now my favorite mix of the year.
