Forza - I've been meaning to thank you for posting that Kangding Ray at Beatport vid on fb a while back. I listen to that shit while driving around ALL THE TIME.

And I'm quite excited for the Demdike Stare show in Seattle!

So glad you dig it!!! I play it frequently as well. And i'm quite jealous of that Demdike Stare show. I've been obsessing over that sound for some time now.

Speaking of obsessing... I love everything put out on Acid Test (Absurd)

I was trying to see if anybody else enjoyed the Liber albums by The Black Dog and had to respond to this. Plaid and Black Dog haven't been related since the 90's They are two seperate entities at this point. Ed and Andy moved onto to Plaid. The recent Black Dog stuff has been consistantly my favorite music. I feel like Plaid's stuff is more hit or miss. I usually love the shit out of a few tracks per album.

Also The Black Dog just released a killer Darkwave mix a few weeks ago

I feel the same way about Plaid, hit or miss, but I must say the live show was quite enjoyable.

Old news and all, but I finally got around to listening to Marcel Fengler's Berghain mix from last year, and holy hell is this a great track:

Hobo's Iron Triangle is worth your time. It's a quintessential example of M-uns's punchy brand of techno.

** I'd LOVE to hear this on a proper club sound system:

Decided today that I don't have any love for Nina Kraviz' music and also that I no longer want to bang her.

Very important techno news, I know.

Her music sucks ballz. She is also wayyy too into herself. I saw a live video where she was basically just posing for the camera the entire time. I was like "turn around and do some proper mixing you dumb bitch."

And that sums up my feelings about Nina Kraviz.

She should become a performer rather than a dj. She has a decent voice and presence which would get better with experience and I think the fact that she can produce makes her more appealing. She would probably want to only produce a few songs and let others do that for her. Of course this would be my advice if she was to market herself to the mainstream.

To be fair I have never seen her live. That may change things, who knows.

I'm feeling a little less bad about completely fucking up a few weeks ago and not being able to stay out for her set. I'd heard she was great..... but only from guys who talked all about how hot she is and mentioned almost nothing about the music.

Yeah.. there you go. I mean I'm she'd spin some good stuff but it seems like her music and her live performance is all about HER. Too fucking self-centered for my taste.

Not impressed by Kraviz. Not one bit.

And if we're talking sexy fem DJ's, the conversation begins and ends w/ Steffi. Mostly on account of her record bag.

The Shifted album is actually out now. Not sure if you guys already passed around a leak or not. It's pretty much the best recent thing out in this genre right now.

Also Boomkat makes it sound like there should be an obvious person behind this alias that they aren't spilling the beans about. Any ideas?

This is from the description on boomkat for the Shifted album.

Didn't know Shifted was the alias of a well-known producer. Does he play out? If so, I wonder if he performs w/ a balaclava a la RRose (whose identity I do know but cannot divulge )

And I'll join the love-fest: the album rips.
