My friend and I listen to mnml in his apartment fairly consistently. He has nice speakers. I'm pretty sure that is the extent of the mnml scene in SD haha...

Obviously the idea is review and we'd like everyone to purchase what they love. Thoughts? I mean there's the blackswan group but thats basically a mirror for all the crap CoS and Pitchfork hype.

No kidding. The last time I felt I really knew a lot about new music of any genre was when I was still in college & right after, when I had hours a day to just listen and read up on acts & music news.

I suggest everyone in this thread listen to John Talabot's ƒin if you haven't. Not mnml by any means but one of the best releases of the year and definitely coincides with a lot of our tastes in this thread.

Wow. I listened to that new Shifted LP before sleeping last night and was very impressed. Between the Shifted LP and the VFTL album, I have been very happy with techno albums this year. Both are early contenders in my book for album of the year.

Also, that Talabot album is great. I like how it kind of explores different sounds throughout the course of the album, keeps it interesting.
