Claude Vonstroke dropped this tonight and did some crazy distortions of the bass line. He was all over the place genre wise, but it really worked.

Really enjoyed this. There's a 21 year old Coil remix of "The Snow" that I used to play the shit out of when I was in college. Really takes me back.

That's one of my favorite Coil tracks. That whole album is such a precursor to IDM and techno to come in its wake, but is more known in industrial circles despite leaving that sound pretty early in their career.

Was listening to the Two Lone Swordsmen remix album and came across this, which is so up my alley:

I listened to K-S.H.E. - Routes Not Roots for the first time earlier today, while we're on the topic of Thaemlitz. Some times dude's/chick's politics get the better of him/her, but man, (s)he is a bonafide fucking artist. I'm extraordinarily jealous of that DJ Sprinkles set.

I saw Boo Williams and John Tejada for like $15 and there was free drinks till midnight and only 100 or so people there. $52 is still ridiculously pricey.

I've also seen BBF twice.

I'll put out a slightly different perspective on the LA party. I've gone to all but 1 of them since this past July and yes it's open bar (and they pour a VERY stiff drink) - the price has been all inclusive since I've been going. But the price has doubled in the last 6 months and if you're like me and do not drink at the parties the price is a huge factor. I'm all for seeing great talent in an intimate location, but I can't drink enough bottles of water to make the $52 worth it. It's why I'm coming to SF for the show, where I get the added bonus of catching Layo & Bushwacka.

A good choice. The loft in which BBF and Ripperton are playing is my absolute favorite place to dance in the city. Very intimate. I assume you're heading over to Magda for afters? If my hunch is correct, that should be w/in walking distance.

Yes on Magda already bought my ticket, and the timing is perfect as it will help me kill the few hours until my flight back to LA at 8:55 am.
