Kompakt records pretty much defines minimal techno for me. As far as original production goes no one can touch them (See Wolfgang Voigt and Michael Mayer). As far as DJs go, Hawtin and Villalobos are the cream of the crop.

Love Gui... especially his album Chromophobia. Gui's 2:30 set on the fields in '09 was my first set at Coachella ever. fucking amazing.

Another producer that deserves recognition in this thread is Alex Smoke. Some of his stuff sounds IDM influenced, but it is nonetheless great.





This song is probably my favorite from Alex Smoke. It's really progressive and really starts picking up toward the end.

LOVE that track dude.... one of my favs from Gui. He's such a beast. Gui in the Sahara tent, with his white fedora, Corona, and a cigarette going. Such a lasting image of Coachella for me.

You guys know Steve Bug? He's one of my favs. I like a remix of this song, but the original is awesome too.
