When all is said and done, how much do you spend for Coachella weekend?

Just curious of how much, give or take, Coachella vets spend all together for the weekend (flights, cab, festival tickets, hotel/house rental/camping, food, drinks, etc).

On a shoe string budget, it can be roughly 7 to 800, right?

Just wanna get an idea how others made out

You could probably pull that off if you're sharing a room with someone or camping, but it's usually closer to $1000. The costs have gone up since the 3rd day was added.

i average about $500 a year, but that's because i live a couple states away and can do a group road trip thing. plus my boyfriend's family loves in coachella so we stay there when we go for the festival. ain't love grand.

Tickets $199 presale or close to $300 regular price.
Camping $40-50 after servoce charges.
Gas in SUV from Phoenix and back = $85 or so
Spending cash = Aprox. $50-$70 a day

So about $650 - $700 on the high end. or $500 on the low end.

I spent $1000 last year and that covered:

Flight
3 day pass
camping
rental car for 5 days (split 2 ways)
2 t-shirts and a poster
and plenty of food and water

Hotel room $150/night for three nights / 4 = $120
According to Rachel Ray, you can eat on $40 a day...but my hotel has free breakfast, so I'm going to say $30 a day for food and tons of water...$90
Vodka mini bottles to bring in: $20

That brings me to $450 with no merchandise.

When I lived in KC -

- $350 = 300 to 400 round trip flight into PS, we'll say 350$
- $25 round trip for bus, but of the 4 trips (2 to, 2 back) I only rode it once.
- $250 = 165 + 35 + 50 for 2005 ticket + camping price (+ticketmaster)
- $30 = 15 * 2 for 1.5 meals a day in venue
- $63 = 7 * 4.5 * 2 for beer in venue
- $25 = random purchases for campground (water, soda, snacks, bathroom stuff, etc)
- < $750 = total

When I moved to Yuma -

- $50 = tank of gas for round trip of driving
- ~$350 = 250+45+50 for 2007 ticket + camping + ticketmaster
- $45 for 1.5 meals a day in venue
- $100 for beer in venue
- $25 = random purchases for campground
- < $575 = total

I've never had a problem drinking the fountain water so water costs me 2 bucks a day. Basically negligible. I don't count 2006 because that year I went with someone and purchases weren't observed. Also, I booked everything 3 weeks before the show in 2004 because I was only really dreaming of going but realized I had the money for it. I think I spent over a grand on tickets and getting there. Add tent, food, drinks, etc and it was probably 1200-1300. Meh.

I spent well over $1500 on my road trip, had to rent a van, drive 4000 miles, tickets, merchandise, hotels, and food. (I also purchased the tickets for me and my friends and rented the van, but they paid me back. Thats almost $2k right there) It was completely and totally worth it, but this year I cant afford it, so I am going to Bonnaroo which ends up being much much cheaper.

I live in LA which makes it cheaper but I don't own a car, so I have to rent one. Also, I had hardly any camping stuff so I had to buy. And I WILL be buying a f'ng canopy this year. My brother flew in from Chicago, so last year I bought the concert tickets for him.

hotel = motel 6 at ~$80/night, divided by a few people
drinks = bottle of vodka and some soda $20, bring it inside the venue
gas = free, goes on company card
food = $15-$20/day

so that's about $160 for the weekend.

-$700Two threedays passes+2 camping at the full $350 price ( I bought one as a gift...most exspendsive gift i ever bought.)
-$350 airfare from texas for one
-$50 bus pass to and from La (DON'T DO THIS..SERIOUSLY, IT WAS A NIGHTMARE)
-$100 for a hotel in oceanside the night before camping began
-$100 (about) for food the entire trip
-$200 for supplies and stuff to use during the trip (tent, sunscreen, etc.)
and more..but I dont remember really.
It definately could of been cheaper..but it was my first coachella and I had the money..so whatever. I could of easily done the trip for $1000 had I not bought my friend a ticket..and spared him money a lot of the times..gr
