less dubstep.
more tech house and minimal.
less dubstep.
more tech house and minimal.
Limit the wobble. Actually just do away with it completely, please.
You guys are fucking dorks.
For one, there were a total of 5 dubstep acts in the Sahara, one of which is more of a DNB act (Chase + Status) and 3 of which were done by 4:30 PM on Friday. There is 0 room to whine here, you were given a Sahara tent loaded with electro and house artists with little dubstep to "ruin" your beloved party.
For two, the Pure Filth stage wouldn't EXIST without dubstep becoming such a beast. This stage would have been perfect for 12th Planet to headline on Sunday instead of a sparsely attended Sahara opener on Friday (and a sparsely attended Ramadanman set during Kanye). Pure Filth should always feature hip hop, DNB and dubstep.
Now where we do agree is in the fucking DO LAB. The Do Lab tried too hard to overload the generic ass dubstep, and did it with their laughable talent pool of Bay Area dubstep artists, most of whom wouldn't make a penny outside of the self-congradulating NorCal scene. They were completely unprepared for the sound bleed and should have some sort of noise cap next year.
And people saying dubstep isn't a diverse sound are stupid as fuck. I hate house music, but I think it's diverse.
For one, thats 5 too many in my book!
For two, I could care less about the aptly named pure filth stage!("Make the dome an acoustic/Q&A stage in the center of the food court tent." me)
And this is like the 5th year of soundbleed... take the dolab outback put it out of it's misery!
Also, I hate genres in general! Dubstep is just a convenient way for me classify the sound and people I'd like removed from coachella.
no. the do-lab is in a perfect place so you can get wet on the way between stages. maybe turn it down
no the do-lab is also fun to get wet in. it's fun to dance and get sprayed with water. but i think that when 75% of the time they play dubstep, it sucks.
hence more fucking MINIMAL
Or maybe just inform the Do Lab that they are a stage, not a San Francisco music showcase, and should try to change up the lineup since Pure Filth has actual good dubstep artists.
Get rid of both the do-lab and dub-step music. FUCK EM.
this thread makes me laugh
the music is what its all about, you love it just like i love it.
Theres nothing wrong with dubstep... There is something wrong with the current trends of dubstep: brostep and just overall filth. I agree that having a certain genre of music playing at one time on multiple stages is a bit much, but I also feel that you are using dubstel as a blanket term for filth lol. Reduce brostep/filth.
viva le resistance
i heard radiohead loves dubstep. does that mean they arent confirmez?

Dubstep was only good once at Coachella. In the Dome that was open to the side of the camping grounds after hours in 2009.

I still don't understand how so many bands find it acceptable to compose songs entirely of bass wobbles. I think less of that would be a nice change.
So I guess that means:
