There were like 60 people at Lindstrom last night, most of which were playing PS3. Is this really that popular of an event?

I was fully committed to Culture Collide until I won tickets to The Rapture last minute. Now I feel kinda bad for skipping out on it. Oh well...

New additions & more venue changes:

We are pleased to announce that tonight's (10/7) Cymbals Eat Guitars, Hooray For Earth and La Sera show at The Echo has been added to the Culture Collide Festival!

That means that anyone with a Culture Collide wristband gets in with no extra charge.

The 18+ show starts at 8:30pm and will still remain $10 in advance, $12 at the door for non-Culture Collide wristband holders.
You can find The Echo at 1822 Sunset Blvd. Echo Park.

Just another bonus for attending FILTER Magazine's 2011 Culture Collide Festival!

We will also be moving the ASCAP showcase from the CO-OP to The Echo tomorrow (Saturday October 8th). Please see the updated set times below.

Saturday October 8th at The Echo:
    (1154 Glendale Blvd.)

    The Henry Clay People (8:00pm-9:00pm)
TS & The Past Haunts (7:00pm)
    Little Hurricane (6:00pm)
    Incan Abraham (5:00pm)
    My bubba & Mi (4:00pm)
    Please the Trees (3:00pm)

This, although I think 60 is a being pretty generous. I got there about an hour before thinking it would be crowded and it was dead and stayed that way all night. I also thought it was a joke how inattentive people were. You could tell he was trying his best to get on with it, but it was quite depressing how disinterested everyone there was. During the quieter moments you could even hear the PS3s louder than what he was playing. Kinda ruined it for me to be honest, but it was nice to be able to watch his set from the rail.

Oh, forgot to mention that the girl standing next to me was staring at her phone literally the entire set.

    Also...what blazin said.

I made it to the Rapture (entire show) and still got there in time to see over an hour of Lindstrom.

    It was a good night.

I first went to reform and luckily saw the 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper saying the show moved to the Echoplex.

Best part of the night was overhearing the bouncer telling these girls he only bounces on the side but he's an actor by trade.

I would have done the same, but the bf works early and we had already driven from Jane's Addiction at kimmel to EP to have dinner and try to grab our wristbands. After finding to the parking lot labeled "Form Academy" on Sunset which contained nothing but a food truck, we gave up on Culture Collide for the night. Otherwise, we would have caught the beginning of Guineafowl, raced to Music Box, and then at least would have had the option of coming back for Lindstrom (though he would have likely vetoed me on that one.)

Holy shit, I just won another ticket. If anyone needs a wristband, hit me up asap, otherwise I will tell them I don't need the prize. I swear, it's raining concert tickets on me this week. Blondie, The Rapture, Culture Collide x3... add to that MuteMath and Jane's Addiction mini-shows, and it's been a pretty stellar week for free live music! Livin' the LA dream!

I would have gone to Jane's addiction on Kimmel but I had to be in the LAX area at that time.

As for winning so much, play the lottery!!!

Never been good at winning money, but I swear I've won tickets to 30 or 40 shows this year. No kidding. I think maybe I will try my luck with the lotto again. I always tell my friends re: twitter and other methods of winning tickets
"you can't win if you don't play" and I guess the same holds true for gambling! However, it costs nothing to retweet a message or fill out an online form.

    Asteroids Galaxy were on it!

YACHT was not nearly as bad as I had heard from people, I enjoyed their set. Funny banters too.

Best time I ever had a festival. Caught roughly 24 hours of music the whole weekend. The wait between CSS and Gang Gang Dance was too long and I had no idea who they were so I split. I was gonna see if I could stick it out to the very end at Taix but I was out.

Faves were CSS, Descartes A Kant and Paula i Karol.

Loved Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, wish they had a longer set. Talked to Alec after the show he said they would be back soon. Here's hoping!

What time did YACHT finally end up going on?

Favorite incredibly douchey overheard statement at the block party: "I mean CSS? Aren't they washed up? Pitchfork gave them like a 4.6 on their last album which was like a statement rating, if you know what I mean"

Geez, an hour delay? I couldn't wait any longer. As far as Gang Gang Dance goes...did anyone else find them really boring? There were parts that I was digging in it but then it felt like they were dragging big time. The long wait between CSS and their start didn't help I guess.

And was the asian guy supposed to be up there? So many questions.
