It's a dinky venue but a couple acts are worth going to it for, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros killed it last year in my opinion. Who's going?
Lykke Li + Peter Bjorn & John.. lovin the swedes
"america is great, a ***** is free to make as much money as a hoe wants to work for him" Pimp
dinky? i'd say it's one of the most beautiful places to see a show in san diego.
lineup isnt really my thing though this year. would love to see band of skulls though.
Let's go on a livin' spree!
yeah the oceanside pier is not dinky. It really is one of my favorite places to see a show. The 2009 independence jam still remains as one of my favorite shows of all time. Perfect weather, scenery, and line up. Last years line up sucked. Delta Spirit was good, but then it was lame after that. Edward Shapre and the Magnetic Zeros only played like 8 songs after all that waiting.
This year will be great though.
I was kind of disappointed that they played the same exact set and time as their Coachella set, yet they were the headliners for the Independence Jam, still thought it was fucking awesome show. I think I should have chosen my words better, I like the venue, the sunset was a great backdrop, especially for how close it is to me, it's just small, and I think the layout for the Casbah stage last year was just weird, they had it in the corner basically. I'm still attending though, no reason not to for the price and the lack of a long drive.
pretty solid lineup, and ive seen almost everyone on the Casbah stage in previous year. Softpack and the Silent Comedy are deff worth checking out. Dislike a lot of the San Diego seen very much though.
you think they'll add anyone or is this pretty much it...?
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
last time i went was 2009, and that lineup was unbelievable. Still one of my top concert memories. This lineup had me at Everest, I'll be there.
July 12 - Portugal. The Man - Witern
July 24 - Postal Service - Greek
Aug 9 - Grizzly Bear - Hollywood Forever
Sept 22 - M83 - Hollywood Bowl
No doubt it was still pretty damn good. I think it may have been that I saw them at UCLA not too long before the independence jam that kind of put a damper on things. The show at Royce Hall was absolutely amazing and set the bar high, there was no way a shorter set after many hours of standing was going to fulfill my expectations.
Wait...they actually played more than 40 Day Dream, Janglin, Home, Up From Below, Fiya Water, Jade, and Om Nashi Me? HOLY SHIT HOW WAS IT! I wanted to go to that show so bad but it was sold out when I found out about it.
Oh man it was soo good! Along with the songs you mentioned they played Carries On, Come In Please, Black Water, a 2 song encore that included a new song that I can't find anywhere, and Brother; where everybody sat cross legged on the ground and stage.
Im right in carlsbad, ill take the coaster in and back or even cab it. hey work, ill be absent on the 5th of june.
I am looking for a ticket (or maybe two or three). if anyone has one holler at me!

i guess for KROQ it's not that big a deal since she was wasn't a headliner, but in SD she was the 2nd headliner below CWK. fuck, i passed on the wiltern show because i was going on Sunday. guess i'll have to go to the Greek now.
Seeing her on Kimmel last night got me so excited; definitely the one act I was looking forward to the most.. such a bummer she won't be there. I was hoping since Lyyke Li is gone maybe they would give longer set times to Peter Bjorn and John and Cold War Kids but that does not seem like the case because it looks like Surfer Blood has been shifted to the main stage. Stoops.
This show just got 50% worse.
who have two tickets?? i need um!

There are tickets back on sale due to people getting their refunds from the loss of Lykke Li. Just click buy tickets on the independence jam site even though it says sold out.
Hmmm anyone know how to get updates for upcoming shows for the Oceanside pier amphitheatere? Live nation doesn't have it listed and I cant find an official site for them.
