Why not? People said the same thing about Portishead in 2008, and the band said they got a better reception here than they did on some of their European dates. I can see them coming back for a proper headlining spot with their new album.

Portishead hasn't released anything since their last appearance. I wasn't there so I would fully support this but it doesn't seem like a logical request until some new material is released.

Yeah I'm not flying across the country.. speaking of which I do not even have the funds for that right now. Portishead is at multiple festivals in the fall this year, they are working on a new album.. maybe there is a chance they return? I can also wait another year or two.

As much as I love Portishead and as amazing as I thought their set was in '08, after the amount of repeat bands who played in 2011, I'd much prefer a lot more non-repeat acts for 2012.

The pool of quality acts isn't enough to go around for all fests and even past Chella fests. The lineups can get very incestuous.

Lets hope #4 is better than #3. The Coachella set they did was amazing, but some of the new songs were just meh.
