For me personally it was Sven Vath with Sasha at a close second.

Near the beginning. He was mixing out of a track and it only had a little mids and bass in there and he didnt pay attention and it was an unnoticable trainwreck for about 20 seconds. The volume was so low on the track he was mixing out of that it didnt sound like a disaster but i heard it, and i saw him once he heard it. He looked up to see if everyone noticed, but noone did.
I only saw Sasha and Shpongle.

tough poll, especially since sven played for so damn long.
1L☮✌e.
You NEED to add Afrojack to the list.
BBDC77 were also unreal.
out of sasha, sven, sphongle, and duck sauce it is definitely sasha hands down. sphongle was a close second, so much room to get the fuck down. i really don't get the hype about sven, we got super bored and left..

Then you must've missed Afrojack's set.
I'll say he's the real deal. He deserves the hype.
i didn't see much in the sahara (mojave is the new sahara) and i missed both sasha and sven. but i think jack beats and afrojack were best in the sahara.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
You know I understand some people want Afrojack on the list but I caught a good chunk of it and it was nowhere near as good as Sasha's. He wouldn't have come close in this poll. He may "deserve" to be on this list over some of the others that are on it, but it's not like it would matter in the end.
the list is fair. Afrojack and Chuckie were very mediocre

Difficult to choose between sasha and sven (the only 2 sahara sets I saw all weekend). The atmospherics were certainly better at sasha, but sven's 45 minute techno onslaught was a force of nature.
He started out with a relatively mellow groove, to his credit. At that time, in that heat, 2 hrs of techno would have been overkill. If every track included some zomg buildup/drop, the truly powerful tracks lose their intended effect. Any doofus can get up there and string a series of bangers together - the skill in DJ'ing, imo, has relatively little to do with mixing (but Sven's effort is to be commended since he was using exclusively vinyl), and much to do with dropping the right track at the right time over the course of an entire set.
To be fair though, if the quoted poster walked in during the last 45 minutes and found him/herself bored, it may be on account of not liking techno, which is another matter entirely.
Also, fwiw, Sven doesn't crack my top 10 list of techno DJ's - gv could book a number of guys that would do it better. But it was such a pleasure hearing those sounds come out of that system.
I voted Sasha, but I would have voted Afrojack. Afrojack's set had all the cheese at the end, but the first 3/4 of it was amazing with the most enthusiastic Sahara crowd of the weekend. I was VERY surprised at how well he did (for that first part).
i for one had fun at odd future. i was only there for the first song though, how was the rest of the set?
