An artist a day until August 1st? Is that for real? That sounds like the most mind-numbingly annoying way to announce a lineup. Whoever thought of this is an idiot.

As far as we know, yes this is real. I prefer it to the the method of releasing an act every hour a la bonnaroo 2010. A lot of the acts will be more obscure (to me anyway) and it gives me some time and direction to get my homework in. With that said, I would love to have one giant lineup handed to me. Oh well.

Yeah, the way Bonnaroo handled it last year was awful. But at least that was only a few hours of awful, as opposed to 2.5 months.

I'm sure most of the lineup will leak ahead of time, but I don't see how anybody could consider this a good idea. Being able to do your homework is good, I guess, but that doesn't seem like a good trade-off to me.

Anyone have any recommendations as far as cheap places to stay? I'm considering going to this. Last year's line up made me want to cry it was so good.

Also, am I going to miss a lot because I'm not 21? What percentage of the shows are 21+ only?

That Star Slinger track in gettin' me ready for the summer ^_^

Cheap as in hostel? Other than that a hotels.com/whatever search is as good as any.

Though the odds of seeing him are probably pretty slim, I'm really liking Mad Professor. Great tunes all the same.

I rather get an artist a day till 8/1 than get nothing till a full lineup announcement. This isn't until September 28th so August 1st isn't cutting it too close (especially when you're use to waiting on Insomniac lineups) plus you get to learn about an artist individually like Forza pointed out. And when you're talking about a fest like dB, a number of shows happening every night at different venues showcasing a handful of artists - you need to know about as much of the lineup as possible.

I mean I looked into it quite a bit last year and I would have been able to get into about 90% of the shows I wanted to see (which was A LOT of them). So hopefully it stays about the same for this year. I might invest in a fake ID though..

I really like this method too, but maybe just do it for the first month - introducing people to the smaller-name acts - and then release the full line-up. Basically what Coachella started doing except for longer. Doing it all the way until August seems a bit much.

yeah... I saw that. still kind of sucks though. Didn't someone say Neumos has a lot of the sickest acts also?

I just don't want to plan on going, get myself all amped up for it, then to realize I can't even see half the shows I want to. That would suck if one of the artists I bought the ticket for was playing at a 21+ venue. I would be so pissed... might have to wait another year for this one :/

I wasn't being literal haha.. sorry to confuse. It just sounds like most things coming out of there/that scene. In other words: "meh, nothing too special".

I don't know Oni Ayhun but the other three you listed would be incredible. BBFE killed it in the Gobi this year. Great way to start off the weekend.
