what's the deal with passes getting access to all events "except shows that are not part of the official festival"? what are those shows? why doesn't their site indicate how big of an exception this is?

why does kimbra have separate tickets? is that a "not a part of the official event" show?

Passes get you access to all Decibel shows. A schedule will appear with the various shows. Multiple venues with the lineup being broken down into showcases. Individual tickets for shows are sold as well, like Kimbra. There are afterparties and other residule celebrations that are not included in the pass.

No, Kimbra is part of the lineup - that just happens to be the only showcase officially announced with tickets available. If you get a pass, you get into Kimbra. I believe the date is July 11th for all showcases to be announced w/tickets on sale.

Last year there was a boat party, a dinner/show, and several after parties that were not part of the official lineup and tickets were separate from the dB pass.

Yes. They sell tickets to each of the showcases, so you can either buy tickets to any individual showcases you wish to see, or the festival pass which includes most of the events.

You must know of some secrets. I've not seen any posted by dB (aside from the after hours events in the months leading up to dB, but not during dB). Only have heard of that one by our favorite SF promoter who said lineup & details are yet TBA.

I had no idea she had such a following and was so prolific. I've never seen her. Granted I was in Salt Lake City, but still, call me selfish, I'd like her to be there regardless of what it does to the festival and who it brings out.

I just noticed that Nils Frahm is on the lineup. He is an amazing pianist/composer. I've only seen youtube videos of his live music but its the type of music that will give you goosebumps. It also could put you to sleep in contrast to the electronic music you'll primarily be hearing at the festival but I think many on here would appreciate his work.

I saw Nils Frahm live at Hotel Cafe in LA back in April and it was an amazing performance. One of my favorites this year for sure.
