Do we not think it's ridiculous that we individually interpret this thread so pedantically? Do we not also think it's ridiculous to phrase a question in this way? Do we not?

One simple definition of a 'perfect' album would be: one that doesn't have any bad songs on it. I think that's the definition most people here are using.

A better definition might be, an album that coheres seamlessly and works as a whole, that achieves some sort of artistic breakthrough (probably the wrong word there, but you know what I mean), and doesn't have any bad songs on it. That's the definition you and I and a few others have been using, I think.

Regardless, 'perfect' is not an objective descriptive, and hence the broad range of responses from these dumbasses people.

Must our definition of "perfection" per se exclude messy, occassionaly meandering double albums?

Pretty much what I had in mind when I started the thread.

Has there ever been a double album that didn't meander at some point? Exile certainly did. 1999 did, those that Bryan mentioned did, London Calling did too, I think -- "Revolution Rock" is both meandering and messy, but London Calling is my definition of what a perfect album should be.

    .
Not only ridiculous, but patronizing. That's what 12 hours of sun and alcohol and family times does when combined with people calling everything they've listened to "perfect."

That statement from you has to be the most hilariously misinformed comment I have read in a long time. You are such a dummy. Try learning more about music you fuckwit!

I realized I only despise you because I'll NEVER be as cool as you. Sigh.... Keep fighting the cynical, snarky, too-cool, "ruin things that might be fun to other people" fight. Maybe, just maybe, I can be like you someday!

I expect your next post to be STFU! Go!

I think my perfect albums are these:

    The Beatles - Rubber Soul
    Pixies - Doolittle
    My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
    Blur - Parklife
    Mr. Bungle - California
Fiona Apple - When the Pawn...
Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
    Madvillain - Madvillainy
of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?
    Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

And some albums that are perfect for collecting nothing but perfect songs (although not perfectly flowing together):

    Pulp - His 'n' Hers
    Pulp - Different Class
    Arcade Fire - Funeral
