Default Tips for Overcoming Post Coachella Depression (PCD)

So, after sleeping non-stop for the last two days, recovering, and not wanting to face the real world, I decided to post some tips that I've learned over the years to overcome the PCD. Please add to this if you have some good tips.

    1. Cut the wristband off. As bad as you donít want to, you have to. As beautiful as it is, it only a reminder of what is over.
    2. Talk about how awesome Coachella was. This only works if you talk to people who were there. Non-Coachellites donít understand and they get annoyed and fuck them anyway. If you donít have friends nearby to talk to, talk to a pet, stuffed animal or a doll. Iíve been talking to the smiley green palm tree on the Coachella T-shirt I bought this year.
    3. Discover new music. As bad as you want to listen to your Cut Copy or Kanye playlist, donít do it! Itís too early. Give it a few weeks. For new music try KCRW, JJJ, Pitchfork or the iTunes Indie Spotlight.
    4. Find something in the future to look forward to. Austin City Limits, here I come!

SEE YOU ALL AT COACHELLA 2012!!!

Number 4 is spot on. Even though I know I won't be going to any other festivals, I try to hype myself with a few to move past what's over. It's slightly working, but I can't stop thinking about next year!

LOL! Sorry, didn't realize this was an official government website where only serious, important issues could be discussed.

    Thanks for the laugh!

I would like to add that I'm feeding my "PCD" by watching videos of artists on my 2012 wishlist and getting that same excitement when each songs start at the festival. I'm currently bobbing my hands and singing along in my room.

Pshhh like we wont be partying every month until next April! I work my ass off like 100 hrs a week every week and at the end of every month I celebrate with a great release like coachella or vegas or nyc or something really stupid like a costume party. Find some drugs, go to some shows, coachella comes fast if you live full no doubt.

For some reason this years depression isn't that bad. But we usually plan something else fun for the next weekend so there is something else fun to look forward to. We usually head back to the desert and hike in Joshua Tree.

    Don Juan is very right

A LOT OF SEROTONIN DRAINED LAST WEEKEND.

So take nothing but Xanax this week and forget about life till you're ready to come back to it and know that Coachella is gone for at least 340 days.

Keeping the wristband on actually helps for me. Whenever it comes off, I invariably wind up feeling worse.

Last year my wristband was on for a very very long time. This year I cut mine off the day after. I was trying to keep it on all year from 2010 but the colors started to fade, and I took it off before it became unrecognizable. This years woulda been much easier to make last.

The Wristband is still on, its way better this way. Ive also taken up listening constantly to not only this years acts but last years, and those who i wish to be there next year (Radiohead). I also work right next to two people who went and i saw one there, so i have that friendship to look forward to. You make a choice to do a bunch of other cool shit all year to the next coachella rolls around!

I cut my wristband off as soon as I got home but I kept it, along with other concert stuff like guitar pics, set lists and other stuff I've collected at shows over the years. I wanted to preserve the memory. It did make me sad to remove it though.
