Anyone else see the Dust Devils in the campgrounds Sunday Night and Monday morning?

Sorry, no pics as I forgot my camera this year, but we did see them. The one on Sunday tossed an EZup around for a while before sending it through the windshield of a silver Kia a couple of spots up from us. Very scary! Sunday wasn't as scary, but was pretty neat looking, and also very sad. The amount of trash some people generate and leave around is disgusting.

Something similar happened to my friend's ezup (oddly my tent was under his while his tent was under mine; we really weren't worried about it when we set up the campground). It wasn't staked down, and when eh came out mid-day Sunday, it was crumpled on his rental car. After he took it down from the car and detached the covering, it was unsalvageable; he left it behind as a modern art sculpture.

We were right next to one of the floating EZ-UP's, and ours were fine because they were staked down, although we held onto my PVC Shade Structure which was doing some serious swaying. The rebar probably would have done the trick, but if it hit directly it might have gone up like Dorothy in Kansas.

Monday the garbage (mostly bags) were easily swirling 300 feet in the air.

I took a 5 minute video of the trash tornado in the campground Monday morning...it was awesome and disgusting at the same time...ill try to figure out how to load a video up, I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to stuff like that...

I haven't uploaded my pics yet, but when I first spotted those, I thought they were birds from a nearby landfill...Then I realized that with all the other improvements and changes to the fest, Paul Tollett had taken it a step further by hiring God to come through and clean up afterwards with His trusty leaf blower!

Seriously, the wind was blowing like crazy during the week prior to the fest. Thursday came along and it stopped. Other than being on the warm side, the weather couldn't have been better. Then, as soon as it ended and people started heading home, that same strong wind returned. Who knew Paul and God were tight like that?
