Don't get me wrong I like RATM and I saw them several times back in the day
But by 2008 I liked Wilco a lot more than RATM

Am I the only one that isn't sold on this?
Seeing Rage at the palladium was good enough for me. i have no desire to see them with 10,000+ people.

I was at the Palladium show too, and I honestly think it's one of the 10, maybe even 5, best shows I've been to in my life.
However, I do think it was a little too packed. I think seeing them in a bigger venue, even with more people, would actually give you more options in terms of space.
I couldn't go through the day of July 30 knowing this was going down in my backyard and not being there.

if their performance surpasses that of Coachella in '99 when Maynard sang his part on "Know Your Enemy" and Zack debuted his "it's gotta start somewhere/sometime" lyrics while i'm fallin' balls all over some acid, you let me know...

this is a bit of info i got from my Metallica buddy who is in the camp: its all just basic info but it was fun to hear it!!
he told me last night that Metallica is looking into possibly doing a massive 2 week US stadium festival tour in August. the big 4 tour is out due to previous commitments from the other bands.(although a New york date will happen in Sept).
the bands they sent interest offers to be sub-headliners are RATM, Slipknot, System of a Down, and Linkin Park.
once they get one of them, they will fill the lineup with bands that fit. Mastodon, Korn, etc.
in the fall they go into the studio to do more work and in the summer of 2012 they will do more big 4 dates in the US before they go into a full arena tour if they get their album done..
bottom line: Metallica-Rage would be incredible!!

well Metallica got next the big 4 date out of the way. Sept 14th Yankee stadium.
id prefer Rage to do their own thing and not sub-headline so this july 30th date is good enough for me!!!!
gonna be fucking EPIC!!
I'd be surprised if Rage opened for Metallica. I personally can't stand Metallica. Rage and SOAD would be cool, though.
rage and soad would be very cool
I dumped Rage at Coachella. Coachella and I have been dating ever since.
