"there is to be a major announcement next week regarding the four original members of Manchester’s indie legends The Stone Roses. Though they said it would never happen, Clash sources reveal a renowned promoter has finally persuaded the tenacious individuals to put their differences aside and reunite for 2012."

Not that I think Moz would want to go to Coachella, Smiths or solo, but I thought that I'd been hearing that he and Marr were talking and friendly. I mean, really, I don't need a complete Smiths reunion. Just Moz and Marr together would be fantastic enough.
As for The Stone Roses reunion: Por favor.
Jeezo cannae believe it, trending worldwide - humble pie right enough

"According to ClashMusic.com, an often reputable UK based publication, the four original members of legendary alt-rock band The Stone Roses are set to reunite in 2012. Citing sources, Clash reports that a ‘renowned promoter’ has persuaded the outfit to end their 15-year breakup, with an announcement scheduled for next week.
The band has been no stranger to reunion rumors in the past, though its members have continually denied the possibility. In March 2009, guitarist John Squire said, ” I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses” In April 2011, a reported ‘emotional reunion’ between Squire and frontman Ian Brown led many to speculate that the band’s reunion was imminent, however, bassist Mani responded by saying, “Two old friends meeting up after 15 years to pay their respects to my mother does not constitute the reformation of The Stone Roses. Please fuck off and leave it alone. It isn’t true and isn’t happening.” Squire later added, “when it’s just a get-together for a big payday and everyone gets their old clothes out, that seems tragic to me.”

Elephant Stone, All Across the Sands, Mersey Paradise, One Love. Hell, they could play anything and I'd be on permagrin the whole time. Wasn't even lining it up this year, but if this happens then plans change straight away.

If this isn't true I'm going to hack NME.
Please do. I'm getting my hopes up even though I know NME is staffed by filthy liars.
That is... hm. I await tomorrow.
The original story that I saw reported was that their management company is calling a press conference for tomorrow morning (UK time) regarding one of the acts they manage. That it's about the Stone Roses seems to be speculation, and that it's about a tour seems to be even more speculation. Don't get me wrong, I want it to be true. I've just already been burned with this particular news story several times in the last few years! Guess we'll know tomorrow...
