    Default A question about water

If I remember correctly, last year you could bring in sealed bottles of water into the festival grounds provided that they had been unopened. Is that still happening, am I imagining that it happened, and does it apply to those of us who aren't camping this year but are staying elsewhere (i.e. driving to and from the festival grounds each day)?

The rules have never, ever been that we could bring in sealed water bottles.

But yes, sometimes the person checking you doesn't know the rule, doesn't care or doesn't notice your water. So yes, sometimes you are able to bring in sealed water bottles.

What this means is you can bring a bottle but if they ask you to dump it out you dump it out and buy some water on the inside.

There's a kernel of truth in that post though, don't act like you have something to hide when your smuggling something in. Don't be a dick, just enjoy yourself, and have a smile on your face that doesn't denote some kind of mischief or drug, and you'll find that some security guards will be a lot more lax with you.

Bottled water will be sold for only $2 (same price since 1999) at numerous vendor locations. Also there will be water fountains. Yes you can bring an empty refillable bottle (no metal).

Yeah, they did allow us to bring in one sealed bottle of water in the previous years. I've done it before. But it wasn't very enjoyable because by the time I got inside, my water would be warm and un-enjoyable. I like it icy cold and refreshing. However they didn't mention any of that this year, so I'm not so sure if you should try bringing one in.

Bring a full, sealed bottle. If it's not allowed, empty it into your belly. Refill it inside.
Youth, you son of a bitch, where did you go?
