I'm not looking to spend too much money this up-coming weekend.
Anyone have an idea of how much one spends on on-site food/water? I know waters are 2$.

Let's say you get 6 bottles of water each day, so that is 6*2 = $12*3, which is $36, add about 16 bucks each day for food, so there is another $48 for the three days. Say you wanna buy two shirts at $25 each, so there is another $50 spent...say you are a drinker and get 5 beers throughout the whole weekend at $7 a pop, there is another $35...maybe you want a few cokes or lemonades throughout the weekend, maybe 4 (at $4 each), so there is another $16. Right now your total would be: $185. I would set aside another $40 for emergency or extra stuff you might buy...so you could probably get away with spending a max of $225, but probably less (I have).
Yeah i'm saying the water part sounds about right. I'm lookin to eat something at the hotel, snack for lunch, and then a meal for dinner. I don't plan on drinking not unless some of my friends distribute during the night, nor do I plan on getting any shirts. Thanks for the help though!
...
The past two years I've gotten away with spending less than 100$... I didn't buy any merch/drinks though
you can do 25 a day if they bring back the refillable water program, or if you wait in line for the fountains...
My girlfriend looks a little bit like Charlize Theron... and a lot like Dog the Bounty Hunter.
I spend $80 a day on beer. 10 beers at $8
Add food at $15
Water $8
I fully expect to spend $120 per day.
You could have 9 beers but I wouldnt advise shorting yourself as it's hot and the day is from 3pm to 1am.
I was inspired to make a "Coachella Calculator" because of this....so here is the link (there is a thread for this in the misc babble section as well).

I got a chuckle out of the responses to the calculator, and honestly it's about accurate. Nice work.
northside groove...southside groove....eastside groove...westside groove
I bought a refillable water bottle last year and lost it on Friday. From that point I just recycled ten water bottles and got ten. It's a great program, and it's absurdly easy to collect twenty water bottles in less than five minutes after a set lets out. Other than the refillable water bottle that I lost, I literally didn't spend a single dollar on water in the festival. I did have a good deal of water at the campsite though
Drink before, after and during the festival at the campgrounds or your place of stay and save yourself 200 bucks for the weekend honestly.
My wife and I bring about $100 in cash, although we end up charging things like shirts from the merch booth, because they take credit cards there. We just end up spending the cash on dinner, water, and any kind of snacks.
this. if you're not camping, show up early and bring an ice chest and a 12 pack or something. a few beers before walking in feels great and is WAY the fuck cheaper. plus, you won't be wasting time in the beer garden when you could be watching, you know, musicians performing.
it makes me forget to relax. with a heart full of holes, and a head full of dreams. with a mouthful of honey, and a fistful of bees.
Then you're not a drinker.
It's hard to get drunk at 9am though. The boyfriend and spent over $100 a day last year on merch and booze/beer. We don't do anything else (pot, acid, etc) and getting drunk at 9am means you're exhausted and sleepy at 8pm so we've kind of got to wait til we're in the field...oh wells.
Eat food that will actually give you some fuel (i.e. not like, fries) and your $ will go farther.
Coachella 09.10.11...
Catch my set at Coachella 2011
at the Energy FACTory Stage: Saturday 5:45PM!
Next to the Sahara Tent
That calculator was actually pretty accurate.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched moonbeams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in the rain...
I agree with Erik. Bring $200 bucks or so, and a credit card in case you want to go wild at the merch table.
That calculator is awesome! Thanks so much!
It'd be good to have an option for offsite food espesh for those not camping. I mean, of course I could just add in another 20 for 3 days or whatever but it's just more fun seeing it there. Oh, and gas for folks driving too. But that's kinda hard to estimate.
Also, this is a somewhat not related questions but I don't want to start a separate thread for it: Will non-campers be able to access the t-shirt warehouse shop that is suppose to be in the camping area? I wanna snatch up a couple tees![]()

Does Coachella only take cash? Do cards work there as well?
There are atms on site.
I usually spend $500 over the course of the weekend, but I like to go into Palm Springs and have a nice brunch on sunday.
Take CASH!!!
Your Credit card will be good for buying merchandise, but that's about it.
Why plan on going to an ATM where there'll be one on site and 20,000 others who ran out of cash in line for it when you can plan ahead and have cash ready to go.
What are you going to do if that ATM breaks or runs out of cash?
Get your money ready people.
I look like a rich pimp pulling out my wallet on Friday afternoon....by Sunday night...back to a few 20's.
I'm bringing $300 for both my boyfriend and I. Keep in mind, I'm eating breakfast and lunch at my camp spot and probably taking the grocery store shuttle to restock on water/beer (and to have a flushing toilet in the morning). I brought 200 for myself last year and had about 60 left over and bought dinner every night in venue. As long as you bring a good amount of food for the camp spot and a canteen, you'll probably spend 150 tops (including a t shirt purchase)
That calculator is awesome - thank you!!
I was planning on taking $100/day just in case I want merch and ect.
I'm bringing at least 10 g's per day. Minimum.
You will need at least 1g per day for lapdances and bottle service.
2gs for water.
and I regularly carry 7 g's on me at all times.
Then you will need as much solid bricks of gold that you can carry without weighing your car down. Problem is, for some reason, at Coachella, the only monetary form accepted by the food vendors is gold bullion. So, unless you want to go hungry all weekend, better load up son.
Ballin!
